Artistic expression can take the form of a vibrant painting, a decapitated sculpture, or front-yard hedges trimmed into the shape of longing. Let creativity blossom with this Groupon.
- $19 for a BYOB painting class (a $35 value)
A faculty of local artists helps students create work in a social, supportive setting with lessons designed for people with no artistic experience. After uncorking bottles of wine and kegs of paint, budding artists spend two hours imitating pros stroke for stroke as they transform canvases of varying sizes into paintings of colorful landscapes and vibrant still-lifes. This Wine and Design location, which marks its second anniversary on October 8, provides all necessary materials, including paint, brushes, and corkscrews. Check the calendar for available class times.
Wine and Design
Started in 2011, what began as a mere hobby for Heather Barbour and Sarah Grant has grown into a flourishing franchise in Historic Dilworth. The duo corrals together local artists that lead students of all abilities through hands-on painting classes. Pupils sit side by side at painting stations equipped with easels, vivid pallets of paint, and water to clean off brushes. Finished pieces blanket the walls to both inspire students and hide the studio's multitude of personal safes. Youngsters can join in on the self-expression as well through Art Buzz Kids' programs, which rolls out birthday parties, summer-camp sessions, and Mommy N' Me classes.
