$49 for A Taste of Italy Wine Class ($335 Total Value)

Hosted on Saturdays at Tommy V's Urban Kitchen and Bar at 4 p.m. and Belfiore Restaurant at 6:30 p.m., events begin with a 30-minute lecture from PBS wine expert Mark Phillips. He explains a four-step process for tasting used by wine judges, as well as how to identify acidity and tannin. Guests will sample two wines during the lecture, then six more afterwards. At Belfiore Restaurant, these six wines may also be paired with six small-plate dishes available for purchase. A six-month subscription to The Savvy Host further tests customers' newfound culinary awareness with recipes, cooking-demonstration videos, and appropriate wine pairings for different meals emailed to cyber-students each month.

Classes are currently scheduled on Saturdays, but more may be added during the week as needed.

great experience and a lot of fun
Craig W. · June 14, 2013
Mark's class was educational and fun. We learned some new and interesting stuff about wine and wine tasting. We love Belifore, the restaurant it was held at, have been there many times before, food on the buffet wasn't as good as ordering off the menu, but decent value for the minimal additional fee.
