What You'll Get
Wine tasting is a terrific way to sample the complex joys of finely crafted drinks, just as the running of the bulls is a terrific way to sample the healing powers of bovine-performed acupuncture. Host a tension-free gathering with today’s Groupon: for $29, you get an in-home wine-tasting event (a $59 value) from Wines for Humanity.
Wines for Humanity cultivates its consumers' passion for fine wines while donating a portion of proceeds to local charities. The company contributes an average of 10% per purchased bottle to the local charity Society of St. Vincent de Paul combating homelessness through the power of good drink and company. The in-home wine tastings begin with a one-hour presentation for up to 16 people conducted by an educated wine advisor who is as skilled in discussing varietals as he or she is in aiding with investments and retirement planning. You and your guests shall sip and sample from seven bottles of wine sourced from all over the world. The advisor shares knowledge along the way and teaches proper tasting and pairing techniques that unlock wine’s plethora of flavors and dirt-scented emotional baggage.
The company brings each bottle of wine and the requisite glassware prior to the event, and it provides snack suggestions here. Though additional wine purchases are not included in today’s Groupon, customers are encouraged to acquire favorite fizz-less drinks for their personal collection at the event’s conclusion (average retail of $20).
The Fine Print

About Wines for Humanity
Anton Steinhart has always been a philanthropic man—one who had always dreamed of helping others, but wasn't sure how to use his skills to make a real difference. Having spent years in the wine distribution industry, one day it finally dawned on him: why not put that knowledge toward fundraising to help prevent homelessness, a cause close to his heart? That's how Wines for Humanity started. Today, the nonprofit functions as an educational, in-home tasting experience, wherein a knowledgeable staffer travels to a client's home to conduct a private tasting party. Guests and hosts are also given the opportunity to order any of the wines they enjoyed to later drink at home or mount like a prize on the living room wall.
