Ever since America lost custody of tea in its messy divorce with England, we've had to find new liquid sources of caffeine and new neighborhood taxmen. Say no to taxation without caffeination with today's deal: for $7, you get $15 worth of coffee and more at Winning Coffee Company in University Heights. The gift card can be used across multiple visits.
Owned and operated by the experimental thespians of the q-Staff Theatre, Winning Coffee Company brews pulse-pounding coffee and dishes up nourishing café fare in a welcoming community atmosphere. Guests are free to pick from the breakfast playbill all day long, which stars Southwestern delights such as the deluxe breakfast burrito ($5.95), which comes smothered in green chili, cheddar, and John Wayne's tears. Meanwhile, the lunch menu complements caffeinated gullets with hearty deli sandwiches such as the New York pastrami ($6.95).
Founded by theater aficionado and former television writer Rob Winning, Winning Coffee combines co-op culture and art integration and then brews them together to create a thriving ecosystem of art, community, and employed actors. All of the passionate owners and workers are paid alike, and proceeds help fund the adjacent theater.
- Your cafe breve is to die for, your wi-fi is free, and some of my best memories are when I'd meet my best friend for brunch and a side of trash talking and sit there for 4 hours and graze on some delectable pastries as a after brunch snacky. – A. eon, Yelp
- There's no place like home: But this is close. Real people, real food, GREAT coffee and chai [stet]. – Sandy, Yahoo! Local
