The Winston-Salem Open—an ATP World Tour 250 tourney with a 48-player singles main draw and 16-team doubles main draw—showcases top-ranked tennis players from around the world as they gear up for the U.S. Open and compete for prize money. A choice of box or reserved seats lets Groupon holders witness each volley in crystal-clear detail, preventing them from having to follow the action with a magnifying glass or game of charades with a coach. Fans will marvel as superstars such as Andy Roddick—winner of 30 ATP World Tour singles titles and the 2003 U.S. Open—rock Stadium Court with fiery forehands and daring drop shots. Mardy Fish, the country’s highest-ranked men’s tennis player, hopes to add another title to his five singles crowns and spelling-bee participation ribbon. Towering over the court with a 6-foot-9-inch frame, U.S. Davis Cup team member John Isner is known for battering opponents with his powerful serve before dunking them in tartar sauce.

Today’s deal opens the gates to a brand-new facility built especially for this event, where fans can peruse games at four other courts, watch the pros practice, or stand in the misting station's cloud and pretend to be a lightning bolt. Instead of napping in the net between face-offs, visitors can unwind with concessions-stand refreshments, live music, and a host of special events.

Not as many top-ranked players are in action so early-on in the tourney, but the ones you do get to see are terrific. Great value.

Had a great time. Outside courts are very intimate - really up close to the players. Got to see quite a few to the ATP players practicing and in live matches. May drive back for the final.
