Q:

What does the upgrade include that so many people are referring to? Thanks, M

Mindy  asked on  Oct 25, 2013

A:

Please check out the First Class web page for photos and a complete description of the upgrade. http://www.spoonertrainride.com/firstclassovernight.htm The major difference is single bed, more space and a shower in the bathroom in your room instead of down the hall.

Q:

How do I upgrade to first class? When I book the date?

Donna S.  asked on  Oct 25, 2013

A:

Easiest way to upgrade is to simply call our ticket office at 715-635-3200. Otherwise go to www.spoonertrainride.com/bedandbreakfast.htm scroll down to calendar at the bottom of the page, click on the desired date, scroll down to First Class and order.

Q:

I want to purchase this as a surprise birthday present but need to make sure I can do it yet this year. How do I guarantee that? Where do we get the train?

Marilyn B.  asked on  Oct 24, 2013

A:

Call our office at 715-635-3200 and make sure your date is available. Then purchase the GROUPON. Also make sure that you give us contact information that will get to you directly and not the recipient of the surprise. And make sure that our office staff understands that it is a surprise so we don't send a confirmation that could be found.

Q:

I am going to purchase a groupon and I the reservation date of 04/19/2014 in mind. The upgrade option is not available past 2013. My question is will there be an upgrade option for 2014 and if so when will that option be made available?

Ella S.  asked on  Oct 23, 2013

A:

Go to the regular Bed & Breakfast page (www.spoonertrainride.com/bedandbreakfast.htm), scroll to the bottom, click on your desired date, when the order page comes up scroll down to First Class and make your reservation. Otherwise with the upgrade you can just call our office at 715-635-3200 and complete your reservation.

Q:

Is the $100 upgrade charge for First Class for one or two people or just for the room?

Denise M.  asked on  Oct 23, 2013

A:

The First Class Upgrade is an additional $100 for the larger accommodations. You still get everything that the GROUPON gives you including: Dinner for two, three hour train ride, two complimentary cocktails, overnight on the train and breakfast in the morning.

Q:

We would be interested in a Saturday night stay in First Class. If we buy the Groupon, can we get a refund if we cannot get a date? I ask because 1st Class availability is so limited.

Jeff M.  asked on  Oct 23, 2013

A:

There are 38 Saturday nights in the 2014 schedule to choose from. Pick a date and make a reservation. The GROUPON is for the 1950's vintage Pullman room. We are extending the courtesy of allowing upgrades to the First Class but unavailability will not be grounds for a refund. Sorry.

Q:

Can I buy this groupon now and then call next year to schedule a date? I don't understand what the Dec 21 expiration date relates to. thanks

Debra L.  asked on  Oct 23, 2013

A:

Absolutely you can. The December 21st expiration date is 2014. So you have a very long time to redeem this Groupon. Hope that helps.

Geno R.  from  Groupon  replied on  Oct 23, 2013

A:

Yes. The December 20st expiration date is December 20, 2014. You purchase it this week and then call anytime to schedule your experience between now and December 20 next year. You have a few available dates in November and December this year and then 165 possible choices during 2014.
