Commonly Asked Questions

Q:

Can you use the Groupon on a holiday?

Kim M.  asked on  Nov 11, 2012

A:

Kim this is a weekday, non-holiday pass so you will not be able to use it from 12/17 through 1/1/13 or on 1/18, 1/21, 2/15, and 2/18. The exception is the Sunday pass which can be used on any Sunday throughout the season.

Q:

When will the ski resort be open for the season? Is the snow primarily man-made?

Jamie B.  asked on  Nov 14, 2012

A:

We will be open by the beginning of December. We have 100% snow making capability so the slopes will have snow regardless of if it is man made or natural. At 4,700ft elevation we will often get snow when the valley and Asheville have rain so if we have a good winter we will have lots of powder up here!

Q:

Does this deal include equipment? The "in a nutshell" deal description indicates "gear" but doesn't specify and nowhere else is "gear" mentioned.

Charity A.  asked on  Nov 12, 2012

A:

Charity, I am sorry that does sound a little misleading which was not our intent! The deal is only good for lift tickets. Rental equipment will need to be purchased when you arrive at the resort. It costs $19 to rent skis, boots, and poles per person. Snowboard equipment is $34 per person.

Q:

The deal states "Five ski lifts ferry guests and gear from the mountains base to the top of 22 individual ski trails" I am interested, but I am not sure what that means. I have a family of four and we have never skied before. What does "gear" mean... Is it the pole, ski and boots or does include the outerwear. The details of this deal is sparse. Could you provide additional information?

Andrea D.  asked on  Nov 12, 2012

A:

Andrea, we have 1 surface lift which is great for beginners and runs on the bunny slope. We also have mid-station drop off on 2 of our lifts which allows you to ride further up the mountain when you are more confident without having to go to the top. The deal is only good for lift tickets. Your family would need to rent gear at the resort when you arrive. It costs $19 to rent skis, boots, and poles per person. We have an excellent Snow Sports School that can get your family started on the slopes. It costs $22 for an hour long group lesson or you can purchase private lessons for $50 for the first person for an hour and $20 for each additional family member. Please feel free to call me at 1-800-817-4111 if you would like some more information.
