Q:

Are there any 'blackout' dates over the holidays?

Andrea B.  asked on  Nov 13, 2012

Andrea-the Sunday pass can be used on any Sunday during our season. The Monday through Friday passes are weekday passes and cannot be used during the holidays. Those black out dates are 12/17 through 1/13 and 1/18, 1/21, 2/15, and 2/18.

More Questions and Answers

Q:

We'd like to ski on Monday Dec 17. Am I correct in saying that none of these deals apply for that day because of the holiday blackout? If that's not true, which one should I purchase? Thanks!

Tony C.  asked on  Nov 18, 2012

A:

Unfortunately, we do not have a Groupon available for that day. The only Groupon that is good on holidays is the Sunday groupon but that is only good on Sunday holidays.

Q:

Is there a hotel on-site? And if so, does Groupon have an deals for that hotel? I'd like to buy the lift pass and accommodations for a gift for somebody.

Kathie K.  asked on  Nov 18, 2012

A:

Our resort does not have a traditional hotel on site. However, we rent town homes and "hotel" style accommodation on the mountain. There is no Groupon Special for lodging right now but if you could give me a call at 800-817-4111 I could check availability and try to get you a good deal. Kathy

Q:

2 quick questions! 1) Is there usually real snow there or alot of artificial snow? 2) Can we use the Sun. pass on Dec 30 and/or Jan 6?

Faithe G.  asked on  Nov 15, 2012

A:

Thanks for your questions, Faithe. You can keep an eye on the resort's snow/skiing conditions by clicking here.

Also, scheduling is subject to the business' availability, so I recommend calling them directly for more information. They can be reached at 828-689-4111 or 800-817-4111.

Q:

I have never been skiing/snowboarding before, do you use one life ticket per day?

Casandra C.  asked on  Nov 14, 2012

A:

Casandra-if you purchase the 4 person deal all 4 lift tickets will need to be used on the same day by different people. I would recommend getting the 1 lift ticket deal if it will just be you coming. When you arrive you will need to rent equipment. It is $19 for skis and $34 for snowboards. I highly recommend taking a group lesson while you are here to get a good start. Group Lessons are $22 per person. It is certainly not required but it sure helps if you know how to start, stop, and steer before going out on your own!

Q:

Do the pack of 4 lift tickets need to be used on the same day or can they be divided on seperate trips. For example can 1 person go 4 separate times with the pack of 4 lift tickets?

Jeanne S.  asked on  Nov 14, 2012

A:

Jeanne-the 4 lift tickets would need to be used by 4 different individuals on the same day. If you want to use them at separate times you should buy 2 of the single lift tickets and get a friend to buy you 2 others as a gift!

Q:

I don't know how to ski. Can the lift ticket be used to ride the lift to the top and then back down again?

Laurie S.  asked on  Nov 14, 2012

A:

Laurie-Unfortunately, the anwer to your question is no. People are required to have ski and snowboard equipment on to ride the lifts. Our insurance does not cover people riding the lifts down the mountain.

Q:

Do you have any cross country ski trails?

myra l.  asked on  Nov 14, 2012

A:

Myra-Unfortunately, we do not have any cross country skiing at the resort. I believe you can cross country ski on parts of the Blue Ridge Parkway outside of Asheville when there is snow and the road is closed.

Q:

I see the deal expires 90 days after purchase. That would mean if I buy today ( 11/13/12 ) we wouldn't be able to use them after 2/13/13?

Amy P.  asked on  Nov 13, 2012

A:

Amy P.-That is correct. However, the promotional value never expires so you could use the amount you paid toward a lift ticket anytime, even next year.
