The “grill” is the front of a car intended to ventilate the motor, filter debris, and evenly cook a steak at 70 mph. Eat a meal that moves at a more manageable pace with today’s Groupon: for $20, you get $40 worth of steak, ribs, seafood, and more at Woodfire Kirby's on Greenville Avenue.
Woodfire Kirby's award-winning chef Daniel Nemec specializes in a menu of seared steaks and charred chops for Texas-sized appetites. Groups can prepare for the big gastronomic game with eclectic appetizers such as the sashimi peppered tuna ($14.95) or the shredded-tenderloin spring rolls ($11.95). For mouth-motivating main courses, chef Nemec cultivates a roster of such meaty beauties as the hickory-smoked rib eye served with a smattering of garlic-sautéed mushrooms ($30.95), the miso-glazed salmon brushed with sweet seasoning ($21.95), or the Woodfire cheeseburger that entraps wily ground beef between buns for an easy carnivorous catch ($12.95). A selection of thin-crust gourmet pizzas, such as the smoked chicken florentine ($12.95) and the truffle mushroom trio ($14.95), delight fans of meat and cheese platters who are sick of breaking their teeth on metal trays.
Works by local artists decorate the brick-walled dining room, which is supplemented by a large bar area. Outside, a lovely landscaped patio accommodates diners allergic to not being around flowers.
