What You'll Get
Hockey is the fastest-paced of all major sports, because its players rush to complete the game before the ice field melts into vinegar. Enjoy the acidic thrill of competition with today's Groupon: for $10, you get a ticket to a Worcester Sharks hockey game at the DCU Center. Choose from the following home games:
- Dec. 30 at 7 p.m. against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers
- Jan. 2 at 3 p.m. against the Portland Pirates
- Jan. 9 at 3 p.m. against the Springfield Falcons
Now in their fifth season in Worcester, the Sharks are the American Hockey League affiliate of the NHL's San Jose Sharks. Lead by head coach Roy Sommer, the Sharks hope to defend their 2009–2010 Atlantic Division title as they take on their mortal ice-enemies. Watch the puck-snagging abilities of goalie Alex Stalock, as well as hard-hitting defenseman Sean Sullivan and his propensity for painting cubist portraits of the referees while in the penalty box. All tickets are valid for the best available seating, and can be redeemed at the Sharks office in the DCU Center the day of the game.

About Worcester Sharks
In 2006, the NHL's San Jose Sharks moved their eponymous AHL affiliate to Worcester. The Sharks have helped foster some of the game's best talent, highlighted by Stanley Cup champions and first-round draft picks. Nearly 40 players, including Claude Lemieux and Thomas Greiss, have donned the Worcester sweater before getting the call to clean out their lockers and playoff beards and head to San Jose. The team has even been represented on an international stage, as several former Sharks competed during the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.
