Q&A with the Cfo
Exercise is challenging, and people frequently give up on their fitness routines. How do you keep clients motivated?
We keep our clients motivated by providing a variety of class types (boot camp, TRX, trampoline). Clients can change up their program, taking a class to strengthen legs and glutes on one day, and switching to an upper body focused class the next. The classes are small to allow for more individual attention, and our instructors are friendly and motivating. We strive to build a sense of community because we know that having workout buddies acts as its own motivating support system. In addition, our staff members regularly check in with clients to see how their experience is going/what could be improved.
Do you believe in the maxim, “No pain, no gain”? Why or why not?
We do not believe in encouraging pain, but we do believe in challenging oneself. We believe that improving fitness requires a little discomfort along the way. We encourage clients to push themselves within their ability, to challenge themselves and allow for growth. We do not promote pushing too hard, or advancing too quickly as this often will result in injury. We promote safety and consistent effort to advance one’s fitness level.
What is a typical session of your program or class like for a student?
In our classes, students will experience a fun, energetic, high-intensity workout. They will get their heart rate up to the beats of amazing music under the glow of funky colored lights….because everyone looks better with a little mood-lighting. Students will end the class having worked up a great sweat, feeling energized and strong, and wondering how the time flew by so fast.
