Commonly Asked Questions

Q:

Do I have to pay for the admission to the city museum as well or is there a special admission to the world aquarium only, because of the groupon deal? I am only interested in the aquarium, but normally one has to pay for both, regardless of whether they will visit the main museum or not. Thanks!

Heather  asked on  Jul 27, 2012

A:

These guided tours only include the World Aquarium and it is not necessary to pay admission to City Museum in order to do the tour. Obviously, if you want to visit City Museum, you will have to pay their admission.

Q:

Are the adventure tours just for kids? If not, how does this work since the aquarium is in the City Museum? Do we have to purchase admittance to the museum as well?

A:

Also, regarding the question if it's just for kids, we have adults come on these tours all the time. We address the tour to the age(s) present. Hopefully this information helps. Due to the length of the Discovery Adventure Tour, we would recommend ages 4 or 5 and up as it tends to be a little long for children 4 and under.

Q:

I am wanting to purchase tickets for my 9-yr-old daughter & her friend to go on the Extreme Adventure Tour. It states that you have to be 12 years and older unless an adult is present? So, my 9-yr old can still do the tour as long as a parent is with her, correct?

Angelina N.  asked on  Jul 29, 2012

A:

Hi Angelina! That is correct.

Do you think a 17 month old would like any thing at the City Museum or aquarium, or is that too young?

Nancy C.  asked on  Jul 29, 2012

A:

Hi Nancy! It's hard to say, as this would depend upon the child and their interests.

Q:

I have a group of 5; myself, my two children, and my parents. We would like to do the basic tour. Do I have to purchase three to get the special pricing or can I purchase two and get the last admission ticket at a discounted rate. I feel I'd be wasting a ticket if I had to buy three.

jamie  asked on  Jul 28, 2012

A:

Hi Jamie! I'm very sorry, but we cannot adjust the price of the Groupon. You can purchase three Groupons or you can purchase two Groupons and pay regular price for the fifth individual.

Q:

Ok, so if I want to buy the extreme adventure tour for my 12 and 13 yr. olds, I would not have to purchase an admission ticket to City Museum for them, nor would I have to attend myself?

Anne B.  asked on  Jul 27, 2012

A:

The Extreme Adventure Tour is only for the World Aquarium. You don't have to pay admission to City Museum in order to do this tour. While we would prefer that the guardian attend with their children, we do need a guardian's signature on the waiver of liability which must be signed prior to the start of the tour.

Q:

My child is almost 2. Is this too little to participate in a discovery tour? Also would he count as one of the two people included in the groupon or are children under 2 free?

Crystal S.  asked on  Jul 27, 2012

A:

For guided educational tours, anyone age 1.5 and up needs a ticket for admission. Due to the length of the Discovery Adventure Tour, we would recommend ages 4 or 5 and up as it tends to be a little long for children 4 and under.
