The Sharks—Up Close! experience lets patrons familiarize themselves with 15 species of sharks during a two-hour tour. Guests feed and touch certain specimens, learn about biology and behavior, gain a glimpse into ocean life, and glean insight into conservation issues and research initiatives. The Sharkology soiree goes one step further into the underwater world, letting guests rub elbows with the “Shark Lady,” Dr. Eugenie Clark, a renowned authority on sharks, as well as her biographer, Ann McGovern. Proceeds from the event will go to benefit the World Aquarium.

World Aquarium

Since 1971, World Aquarium has stuck to its not-for-profit mission to protect marine life and promote the public's understanding of the aquatic world through educational programs, exhibits, and research. The aquarium unsurprisingly favors a hands-on approach; visitors often get close enough to high-five the flippers, fins, or pincers of many of its more than 10,000 animals.

Tour guides wind through exhibits on sea and freshwater animals, showcasing creatures such as sea turtles, sharks, stingrays, and fish from rivers and lakes around the globe. While peering into the faithfully reconstructed habitats, visitors absorb valuable information on how to conserve water, protect aquatic resources, and peacefully resolve conflicts between Siamese fighting fish.

Customer Reviews

The guide was very nice and patient with answering questions.

Don't judge a book by its cover. I walked in and first was questioning my purchase. Then the tour began and I thought it was amazing. I took my 3 girls (ages 10, 8 and 5). The enjoyed every bit of it. The saw some very cool animals, feed a bunch of them and held a bunch also. For the price I would high recommend to others. Please just keep and open mind when you walk in.
