The talented thespians at New World Theatre Project delight audiences with vibrant productions of Shakespearean works performed on the open-air Indeavour Stage, modelled after an Elizabethan playhouse. The Merchant of Venice follows Bassanio, who, determined to woo wealthy Portia, must procure 3,000 ducats, which his friend Antonio borrows from Shylock by promising a pound of his own flesh as collateral. Giggle and gasp through this high-stakes tale of love, mercy, and the perils of epidermal loan equity that stars Greg Malone as ill-starred Shylock.

Those opting to see Henry IV, Part I revel in a historic drama that tracks rebellious Prince Hal and his well-padded compatriot Falstaff as they boldly battle to protect the British throne from crown-craving Henry “Hotspur” Percy. Featuring Andy Jones as Falstaff, the play brims with laugh-inducing hijinks and harrowing feats of bravery, leaving audiences eager to find out if the sequel really is in 3-D, as Shakespeare alludes to in the epilogue.
