Some people, such as Lionel Richie, are born with a Lionel Richie–like ability to sashay up steep inclines and across ceilings. Today's Groupon helps those unable to naturally climb with the agility of an ex-Commodore. For $40, first-time clients get an introduction to indoor rock climbing class and a one-month membership at X-treme Rock Climbing (an $80 value). Participants must be at least 14 years old.
X-treme Rock Climbing instills mountain-scaling mobility in humanoids long restricted to humdrum horizontal hiking. In X-treme Rock Climbing's one-hour introduction to indoor rock climbing class ($35), available throughout the week, students will learn belaying, basic knot tying, climbing movements, and preliminary Stallone-Lithgow dialogue exchanges. Equipment, such as helmet and shoes, is included for the class, with a release-of-liability waiver required. With five other students in the class with you, you'll enjoy a climbing camaraderie not seen in the moody, Sherpa-led excursions of the Himalayas, more commonly known as "Asia's Catskills."
With indoor rock climbing under your carabiner-laden belt, you'll be ready to tackle X-treme Rock Climbing's facility of faux facades and semi-slopes with a one-month membership ($45). Unlike with the introductory class, climbing equipment is not included with the membership, but you may bring your own or rent from them ($8 for a complete package). Rescue mountain goats of the mind on X-treme Rock Climbing's 14,000 square feet of climbing space, or blog about your record-breaking scale session on-site with the gym's free WiFi. Membership at X-treme Rock Climbing also grants you access to the gym's free yoga classes, held six days a week, as well as its workout facility. Call X-treme Rock Climbing to schedule your introduction to yak-like superclimbing.

X-treme Rock Climbing offers a vertical maze of more than 14,000 square feet of climbing. USA Climbing–certified route setters mark basic paths for beginners, along with challenging roofs and overhangs for more experienced scalers. The routes change often, lending a layer of surprise to each return visit. Skilled instructors also teach students to master indoor and outdoor rock-climbing techniques, which they can use to blaze new paths at parks or reach top-shelf cereal boxes in grocery stores. In addition to climbing, X-treme Rock Climbing helps patrons achieve physical-fitness goals with yoga classes, weight machines, free weights, cardio machines and an onsite pro shop.
