Yankee Paintball caters to new players and experienced warriors with 50 acres of battlefields and a friendly team of safety-focused referees. Recent recruits can get acquainted with speedball on the recreational field, testing their aim on wooden obstacles and imaginary hecklers. Up to three squads of capture-the-flag enthusiasts may build jails and fortresses in The Knoll—a pine forest dappled with shelters and a small hill—while smaller teams will enjoy the Hawk's Nest, which features bunkers on one side and cover on the other. Meanwhile, scout troops, birthday parties, and feuding glee clubs can duke it out in the 10-acre Castle, where a faux-brick fort shields skulking knights from paint-slinging princesses. Throughout the game, an attentive ref will see that goggles stay in place and will prevent seasoned players from kidnapping paint-stained newbies and selling them to art museums as Jackson Pollock originals.

When gearing up for battle, tincture-troopers should pack extra clothes, baseball caps, drinking water, and snacks. Each platoon should also wear loose long-sleeved shirts, comfy pants, ankle-bolstering boots, sunscreen, and bug spray, taking care to avoid poison ivy and huckster rattlesnakes.

About Yankee Paintball

Lifelong paintballers Glen Kapostas and Eric Schreiber founded Yankee Paintball with the aim of introducing new people to their favorite sport on a safe and fair playing field. Their 50 acres of paint-strewn battlegrounds include five different fields, each with a distinct layout and environment. Inflatable obstacles are scattered throughout the Airball Field, the layout of which changes every few weeks to enhance replay value. The 10-acre Castle Field—the largest of the bunch—spans the length of a small hill. Its battlegrounds light up with multi-colored crossfire during team games in which players crouch in bunkers, take shelter behind trees, and hide in the crowded nests of woodland critters.
