What You'll Get
A frothy brew and salty foods pair together as well as shoes and socks, North and South Dakota, or high-fives and blind dates. Dive into delectable duos with today's Groupon: for $10, you get $20 worth of craft beers and pub fare at Yard of Ale on South Howard Avenue.
Boasting a bevy of brews, Yard of Ale pleases barley buffs with more than 20 sudsy beers on tap, 75 bottled brews, and a pub-grub menu to pair alongside them. With fine breweries represented, such as Abita, Brooklyn Brewery, and Framboise, diners can bask in golden brewski brilliance while sinking incisors into a corned-beef sandwich dressed in spicy Ale mustard ($9) or a portobello sammie stacked with roasted red peppers and provolone cheese ($9).
Appease premeal appetites with warm pretzels ($8), buffalo wings ($8), or one of six sliders ($6 each), such as barbecue pulled pork or crab cake. Pizza architects can assemble their own pie ($12) from more than 15 toppings, including blue-cheese crumbles, Italian sausage, artichokes, and unused Frank Gehry blueprints.
Yard of Ale's cozy confines sport the Old-World charm of stone walls, slanted ceilings, woodworks, and soft lighting. Pub purveyors can dine inside among the dartboards and flat-screen TVs or belly up to the patio bar to take advantage of abdominal transit and clement weather. The regularly updated calendar of events features theme nights and pipe-tickling Yard'oke, but less finicky entertainment fiends can watch the Yard's valets park vehicles for free every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m.
Metromix gives Yard of Ale a 3.5-star rating:
- If you only have a few dollars in your pocket and all you want is a beer and a mellow vibe, Yard of Ale is for you. – Ashley Grant
