Q:

Hi! I have a VHS tape that has slipped off the reel inside. It holds great family memories. Would you be able to save it to convert that to dvd? Thank you!

Kimberly S.  asked on  Feb 10, 2013

A:

Excellent question, Kimberly! If you send in a broken video tape, we would first need to repair it in order to transfer it on to a DVD; we cannot transfer a tape broken. We can repair videotapes if the ribbon is snapped, wrinkled, or if the case is broken. Keep in mind that when we repair a wrinkled ribbon, the footage in that section will be lost. The additional cost for video tape repairs is $10.00 for a ribbon repair and $15.00 for a repair with case replacement. Q:

I have vhs tapes with about 10 minutes worth of footage on each one. And, unfortunately, I have a lot of tapes this way. Could I use those tapes for this deal and how many 10 minute tapes could you put on a DVD for the $19 deal? lori

Lori S.  asked on  Feb 10, 2013

A:

Thanks for the question, Lori. Our pricing is $19.99 per video tape, up to two hours. We do not merge tapes together, so each tape submitted will be transferred on to its own DVD and have a base price of $19.99. Any tape exceeding two hours will require a new DVD to be made, with a cost of $19.99 per additional DVD created. The Groupon offer covers three transfers for the price of one, in your case, that would be three of your tapes. Q:

I have DVD of still pictures. How many pictures will go on a 2-hour DVD?

Pam M.  asked on  Feb 9, 2013

A:

Thanks for the question, Pam! The quantity of pictures that can be placed on a single DVD vary depending on the pictures you submit, as they generate different file sizes. The average is about 900 images per disc. However, our pricing is $0.49 per image, this means that if additional DVDs need to be created, no additional costs would apply. Since this Groupon is for $60 worth of our service, that would cover approximately 122 images. Q:

Can you process odd size negatives from Seattle Filmworks? I had a camera that produced three different sized negatives.

Thomas P.  asked on  Feb 9, 2013

A:

Hi Thomas, thanks for the question. We can transfer a wide variety of negatives including: 35mm, APS film, 110 film, 110/220 film, 126 "Instamatic" film, and large negatives. If you are unsure if your negatives are supported, we would recommend taking a picture or gathering some additional information regarding the film's format and contacting us -we would be happy to let you know if we can transfer your media! Q:

Can mini DVDs be transferred to DVD? If so, what is the cost for those? How many could I get done with the Groupon or it is based strictly on hours? Thanks!

Tiffany S.  asked on  Feb 8, 2013

Q:

I'm trying to calculate my actual final cost for this deal, doo-to-door. Please correct me if the following assumption is wrong. Say I buy your deal of $60.00 worth of transfer services for the Groupon price of $19.00, and choose to send you six small 8mm film reels to transfer to DVD @ your regular stated cost of $54.00, then I can apply the remaining $6.00 credit left on my $60.00 value deal toward your return flat rate mailing cost of $10.99, which would leave me a $4.99 cash balance due to you, making the grand total of my actual Groupon investment $23.99 ? I'm located in Indiana, so I'm guessing state sales tax would not apply since you are located in CA ~ Am I correct in my calculation of a total cost to me of $23.99 for the aformentioned deal ?

Caroline P.  asked on  Feb 9, 2013

A:

HI Caroline, If you are essentially saying that your Groupon for $19.00 plus the balance of return shipping is waht you mean by your Groupon investment, then yes! You would pay Groupon for the $19 and YesVideo for the remaining shipping balance when you place your order to get the full $60 in YesVideo value .

Q:

Do you also process 8mm tapes?

Heidi S.  asked on  Feb 8, 2013

A:

Thank you for the question, Heidi! We transfer a variety of video tape formats to DVD, including 8mm video tapes! Our pricing is $19.99 per video tape, up to two hours. We do not merge tapes together, so each tape submitted will be transferred on to its own DVD and have a base price of $19.99. The 2 hour limit is listed in the event that you have a tape longer than two hours. Since the DVDs can hold up to 2 hours, any tape exceeding two hours will require a new DVD to be made and a cost of $19.99 per additional DVD created.
