Q:

Can you transfer super8 with sound?

Patricia M.  asked on  Feb 13, 2013

A:

Great question, Patricia! Yes, we are able to transfer audio from Super 8 movie film. However, the only audio we can transfer from Super 8 movie film is magnetic audio; we are not able to transfer optical audio from Super 8 movie film. Magnetic sound will look like a copper colored bar running down the length of the film whereas optical will look more like a jagged line going up/down. There is no additional cost for transferring audio, but don't forget to select "Actual Audio" as your audio option when placing your order! Our pricing is $0.18 per foot, so this Groupon will cover up to 333 feet of film! You can also visit our website to read our frequently asked questions and learn more about our Groupon offer.

Q:

I have a VHS tape of home movies that has come off the spool at one end, is it possible to fix that and then transfer the content to a DVD?

Cathy S.  asked on  Feb 13, 2013

A:

Excellent question, Cathy! If you send in a broken video tape, we would first need to repair it in order to transfer it on to a DVD; we cannot transfer a tape broken. We can repair videotapes if the ribbon is snapped, wrinkled, or if the case is broken. Keep in mind that when we repair a wrinkled ribbon, the footage in that section will be lost. The additional cost for video tape repairs is $10.00 for a ribbon repair and $15.00 for a repair with case replacement. Q:

I have a whole bunch of old slides that I want converted. How many slides is considered 1 order

Michael D.  asked on  Feb 12, 2013

A:

Hi Michael, thank you for the question. You can send as many items as you would like! We do not have a set amount of items that would be considered one order, and your order is determined by quantity and type of media you submit. Your order is not limited to the value of the Groupon and we will gladly transfer all the materials you send to us. Just keep in mind that your credit card will be billed for the amount that exceeds the Groupon value. Since this Groupon is for $60 worth of our transfer service and our pricing is $0.49 per image, this Groupon would cover up to 122 slides. Q:

I have several reels of 9 mm- they aren't very long- would each reel go on its own DVD- or would they put several reels on one DVD?

Carol S.  asked on  Feb 12, 2013

A:

Thanks for the question. We are able to transfer 8 MM, Super 8, and 16 MM film to a DVD. During the process, we do place as many reels as we can on a single DVD; we are able to fit up to 1,600 feet of 8 MM film on one DVD. You also want to keep in mind that your film will be spliced and combined onto new 400 ft. reels. Your empty reels will be returned, along with the new 400 ft. reels containing your original footage. Q:

If a tape only has a few minutes on it does it still count as a 2 hour tape or is it 6 hours for the 19 dollars?

rochele w.  asked on  Feb 10, 2013

A:

Thanks for the question, Rochele. Our pricing is $19.99 per video tape, up to two hours. We do not merge tapes together, so each tape submitted will be transferred on to its own DVD and have a base price of $19.99. Any tape exceeding two hours will require a new DVD to be made, with a cost of $19.99 per additional DVD created. With the Groupon offer, you are receiving three transfers for the price of one! Q:

How many 5" reels for the $19? I think that's the size we have.

Mike H.  asked on  Feb 10, 2013

A:

Thanks for the question, Mike! Our pricing is determined by the amount of feet transferred, not according to reel. Since 5" reels generally hold 200 feet when full, that would each 5" reel would cost $36.00. Since two or more reels would exceed the $60 value, it would be up to you if you would like to use the difference to cover shipping, transfer another media type, additional DVD copies, or pay the difference for any other reels you have. To calculate what you can get out of the Groupon with the media that you have, you can visit our page here and tell us what you have; it will automatically give you a quote depending on the quantity you enter! You can also view our pricing list on that page. I hope this helps!
