Q:

Do you edit the tapes if necessary included in the groupon price

Ilia S.  asked on  Feb 8, 2013

A:

Hi Ilia, thanks for the question. Video tape transfers are a straight transfer; we do not edit the footage. At this time, we do not provide a service to edit the footage before it is transferred to a DVD. However, I would like to take this time to let you know that your tape transfer order will include access to our MemoryShare website which will allow you to view, share, edit and order additional copies of your videos online. While you won't be able to edit the footage prior to receiving a DVD, you can always use our online editing tool to create an additional customized DVD for $8.99 plus shipping. Alternatively, since the files on the DVD are not restricted, you may always utilize the video files on your disc and use editing software on your computer. Q:

Where is this service performed? How do I get my materials to be converted to this business ?

larry j.  asked on  Feb 6, 2013

A:

From their FAQ page: When you order directly online, you will ship your order directly to our Santa Clara, CA facility where all direct online orders are processed. You will be provided full packaging and mailing instructions as part of the order process when you redeem your Groupon.

A:

Hi Larry, thanks for the questions. As Kelsey stated, we are located in Santa Clara, CA and our shipping address will be provided to you with your order documents after your order is placed on our website . There are several ways to ship your order to us. You can: purchase an EasyShip Kit, a prepaid shipping label from our company, or use a self-shipping method. If you choose self-shipping, no additional charges would be added to your order and the cost of shipping would be determined by the courier service you wish to use. If you choose to purchase a prepaid shipping label from us, you can do so during checkout. The cost is a flat $9.99 and you will receive a UPS label to print out after your order is submitted. The easiest way to ship your order is through our EasyShip Kit. With the EasyShip Kit, all you do is place an order for the kit (priced at $19.99), pack up your materials in the box we provide and send to us via prepaid postage -- we do the rest! Shipping back to you is a flat $10.99. If you would like to do so, you can even use part of your Groupon value toward the shipping costs.

Q:

This is a follow-up to my question about the PAL VHS tape conversion. Will the DVD be in the US format or still in the PAL format? I would want it in the US format. Thanks for your help!

Cheryl K.  asked on  Feb 6, 2013

A:

Hi again Cheryl! The DVDs are DVD-R and are Region Free (Region 0), which will allow them to play not only on US DVD players, but also on foreign DVD players. If you would like to learn more about our Groupon deal and transfer service, you can also visit our website here.

Q:

Hi i'm still a bit confused. I have many old Super-8 movies. Each reel is about three minutes in length. How many of these would be included in the Groupon special? Thanks Charlie

charlie S.  asked on  Feb 5, 2013

A:

Thanks for the question, Charlie. Our pricing for film is per foot, not per reel. To determine how many feet your reel has, you would want to measure its diameter. Since your film is only three minutes in length, it is most likely a 3" reel, which holds approximately 50 feet when full. Since the Groupon covers up to $60, you would be able to transfer equivalent to six 3" reels for the value of this Groupon (not including applicable tax and shipping costs). If you have different reel sizes, you can calculate what you can get out of the Groupon with the media that you have, by visiting our page here ; simply tell us what you have and it will automatically give you a quote depending on the quantity you enter!

Q:

Can I use part of the Groupon for repairs? I have a minor problem with one tape that needs to be transferred to digital. Thanks!

David W.  asked on  Feb 5, 2013

A:

Great question, David! You can definitely use part of the Groupon value toward repairs. The Groupon will cover all charges up to its value within your order. We can repair videotapes if the ribbon is snapped, wrinkled, or if the case is broken. Keep in mind that when we repair a wrinkled ribbon, the footage in that section will be lost. The cost for video tape repairs is $10.00 for a ribbon repair and $15.00 for a repair with case replacement. Q:

Can I use the groupon to transfer 8 mm tapes to DVD?

Lori D.  asked on  Feb 4, 2013

A:

Hi Lori! Yes, you can definitely use this Groupon to transfer 8 mm video tapes! Other accepted tapes formats include: VHS, Betamax, VHS-C, Hi-8, Digital 8, and MiniDVs. Our pricing is $19.99 per video tape up to two hours. You can also visit our website to read our frequently asked questions and learn more about our Groupon offer.

Q:

For the video conversion, is it good for 6 hours worth of video? I have quite a few mini DVD tapes, but none are 2 hours ( like given in the example, $57.97 for three two-hour tapes). The tapes are 60 minute tapes, and I'm not sure if they are all full or not. Thanks!

Beth B.  asked on  Feb 4, 2013

A:

Hi Beth, thanks for the question! Our pricing is per video tape, not according to hours. We do not merge tapes together, so each tape submitted will be transferred on to its own DVD and have a base price of $19.99. The '2 hour' limit is listed in the event that you have a tape longer than two hours. Since the DVDs can hold up to 2 hours, any tape exceeding two hours will require a new DVD to be made and a cost of $19.99 per additional DVD created.
