Q:

I have 4 questions: Do you try to get the tapes in a sequential order if there are many? Do you select the type of background music or do we? Do we get all of the originals back? If there are several hours worth of tapes will you charge the $19 per each 3hrs worth or will the regular price take over after 3 hrs of tape? sincerely, Lynne

lynne W.  asked on  Feb 7, 2013

A:

Hi again, Lynne! We do not merge tapes together, so each tape submitted will be transferred on to its own DVD and have a base price of $19.99. Any tape exceeding two hours will require a new DVD to be made, with a cost of $19.99 per additional DVD created. Video tape transfers do not include the option to add background music, as we will capture the original audio. If there is no audio, the tape will be silent. Q:

hi, are they cut or edited at your discretion if filming was monotonous at certain times, etc? ty! steve

lynne W.  asked on  Feb 7, 2013

A:

Hi Lynne, thanks for the question. We do not conduct any custom editing. However, I would like to take this time to let you know that all video tape, film, and digital media transfer orders will include access to our MemoryShare website which will allow you to view, share, edit and order additional copies of your videos online. While you won't be able to edit the footage prior to receiving a DVD, you can always use our online editing tool to create an additional customized DVD for $8.99 plus shipping. Alternatively, since the files on the DVD are not restricted, you may always utilize the video files on your disc and use editing software on your computer. Q:

I saw that you have can convert reels to DVD's. How many reels my I send it for the $19 buy? This would be a gift for my 85 year old grandmother. Thank you, Mark H.

Mark H.  asked on  Feb 7, 2013

A:

Great question, Mark! Since we charge per foot ($0.18) rather than per reel, the $60's worth is dependent on the quantity of feet each reel contains. To calculate what you can get out of the Groupon with the reel sizes that you have, you can visit our page here and tell us what you have; it will automatically give you a quote depending on the quantity you enter! You can also view our pricing list on that page. I hope this helps!

Q:

I have two VHS tape of my kids birhdays and holidays. When rewinding the tape broke at the end .Can you somehow salvage these two tape and convert to a CD?

Joe S.  asked on  Feb 5, 2013

A:

Excellent question, Joe! If you send in a broken video tape, we would first need to repair it in order to transfer it on to a DVD; we cannot transfer a tape broken. We can repair videotapes if the ribbon is snapped, wrinkled, or if the case is broken. Keep in mind that when we repair a wrinkled ribbon, the footage in that section will be lost. The cost for video tape repairs is $10.00 for a ribbon repair and $15.00 for a repair with case replacement. Lee M.  asked on  Feb 5, 2013

A:

Hi Lee, thank you so much for your interest in our service. Unfortunately, we are not able to transfer data from floppy discs. However, we have many accepted formats you may be interested in, including various types of video tapes, film reels, images (slides, negatives, prints), and digital media (USB sticks, memory cards). You can submit any of those to have transferred on to a DVD! To read more about our Groupon offer, you can also visit our website here!
