Q:

Thank you so much for getting back to so quickly! I have three mini tapes that I would like to send in but, two of them have broken ribbon. Could you please tell me what the price would be to change them over and fix the two ribbons? Thanks again. :)

Misha L.  asked on  Feb 9, 2013

A:

You are very welcome, Misha! We are always happy to help. Since our pricing is $19.99 per video tape up to two hours, your three video tapes would have a base price of $59.97. Because our ribbon repairs are an additional $10 and you have two tapes which need to be repaired, that would be an additional $20 to your order, for a total of $79.97, $90.96 including shipping back to you. With the Groupon discount of $60, that would leave a cost of $30.96. Please note that if any tape exceeds two hours, that will require a new DVD to be made, with a cost of $19.99 per additional DVD created. Q:

I have some mini tapes that I would love converted but the tape's, tape has snaped. Is that something that could be fixed? I've heard that you can buy special tape to fix your, well tape (haha) and I was wondering, if this was true, was this something you guy could do before converting or if it would be something I would need to do before hand? Thank You so much for you time :)

Misha L.  asked on  Feb 7, 2013

A:

Excellent question, Misha! If you send in a broken video tape, we would first need to repair it in order to transfer it on to a DVD; we cannot transfer a tape broken. We can repair videotapes if the ribbon is snapped, wrinkled, or if the case is broken. Keep in mind that when we repair a wrinkled ribbon, the footage in that section will be lost. The cost for video tape repairs is $10.00 for a ribbon repair and $15.00 for a repair with case replacement. Q:

Hi I want to convert some old slides (and a few photos) to DVD for my Mom and Dad, now in their eighties, but I would like to know that I'll be able to make a copy of their gift for myself once it is finished and sent back . Will it be possible for me to burn a copy of the DVD you produce? Thanks, Suzanne

suzanne s.  asked on  Feb 6, 2013

A:

Hi Suzanne, thanks for the question. The YesDVD is copyrighted, but not copy protected. This means that YesVideo owns the design of the product and software on the DVD, but certainly not the content. Although we do not encourage this practice, YesVideo does not alter the disc to prevent you from making a copy. Q:

How could I edit my VHS before converting? Thanks

Mary A.  asked on  Feb 6, 2013

A:

Hi Mary, thanks for the question. At this time, we do not provide a service to edit the footage before it is transferred to a DVD. However, I would like to take this time to let you know that your film transfer order will include access to our MemoryShare website which will allow you to view, share, edit and order additional copies of your videos online. While you won't be able to edit the footage prior to receiving a DVD, you can always use our online editing tool to create an additional customized DVD for $8.99 plus shipping. Alternatively, since the files on the DVD are not restricted, you may always utilize the video files on your disc and use editing software on your computer. Q:

Is it possible to send a mix of photos and 35 mm slides for the Groupon offer? Does the offer equal 122 of slides AND photos? Thanks for an answer.

Patricia L.  asked on  Feb 5, 2013

A:

Thanks for the question, Patricia. Definitely! The deal is for you to spend the $60 any way you wish for our supported media types. Since you pay a la carte for your order, you can have combinations of the supported media types as well (different media types will go on different DVDs, but they can be placed in the same order). In your case, photos and slides both fall under the "image" category and are priced at $0.49 per image, so the $60 Groupon will cover up to 122 images of any combination. Since photos and slides fall under the same category, both formats will be placed on the same DVD. Q:

I have a boatload of 35mm slides. How many can I get on a DVD for $19??

david j.  asked on  Feb 4, 2013

A:

Thanks for the question, David. Our pricing for image transfers is $0.49 per image. Since the Groupon offer covers up to $60 worth of transfer services, this would be equivalent to 122 images ($59.78). It is also important to keep in mind that the example provided does not incorporate any applicable taxes or shipping. Q:

This Groupon deal is $19 for $60 worth of Digital Conversion of VHS Tapes, etc. Your materials state that your "services include conversion of videotapes into DVDs ($57.97 for three two-hour tapes)." Does this mean that, through Groupon, you will convert three of my two-hour videotapes into DVDs for $19? Or is the price for three videotapes $57.97?

Isabella F.  asked on  Feb 4, 2013

A:

Hi Isabella! Our pricing is $19.99 per video tape, up to two hours. We do not merge tapes together, so each tape submitted will be transferred on to its own DVD and have a base price of $19.99. We have a '2 hour' limit is listed in the event that you have a tape longer than two hours. Since the DVDs can hold up to 2 hours, any tape exceeding two hours will require a new DVD to be made and a cost of $19.99 per additional DVD created.

Since the Groupon deal is for $60 worth of our service, that would be equivalent to three 2-hour tapes ($19.99 each, for a total cost of $57.97); that's three tapes for the price of one!
