Q:

We have compact VHS videos. Can you handle VHS-C? Each video is less than 2 hours. Do I understand it correctly that you can not copy two short videos on one DVD? Would I need to pay for each 20 minute segment on a separate DVD? Jeanine

Jeanine J.  asked on  Feb 8, 2013

A:

Thanks for the question, Jeanie. Yes, we can transfer VHS-C tapes! You're correct: we do not merge tapes together, so each tape submitted will be transferred on to its own DVD and have a base price of $19.99. With the Groupon offer, you are receiving three transfers for the price of one! To learn more about our Groupon deal and transfer service, you can also visit our website here.

Q:

I have 2 VHS tapes that I'd like to convert to DVD format. Will the purchase of your groupon ($19 for $60 worth of digital converstion) cover the conversion of both of these 2 VHS tapes? Or do I need to purchase 2 of your groupons? Russ D.

Russ D.  asked on  Feb 6, 2013

A:

Hi Russ. Our pricing is $19.99 per video tape, up to two hours. We do not merge tapes together, so each tape submitted will be transferred on to its own DVD and have a base price of $19.99. Any tape exceeding two hours will require a new DVD to be made, with a cost of $19.99 per additional DVD created. This means that if your tapes are do not exceed two hours, they will both be covered under the Groupon value. Q:

Are you set up to copy super 8mm magnetic sound or 16mm silent? Please note the 16mm runs at a slower speed than sound film.

Ron F.  asked on  Feb 6, 2013

A:

Hi Dawn, thank you for the question. We can transfer various film types, including yours! All of our accepted formats include: Super 8, Regular 8, and 16 MM film. We are able to transfer audio from Super 8 movie film. However, the only audio we can transfer from Super 8 movie film is magnetic audio; we are not able to transfer optical audio from Super 8 movie film. On the other hand, we are able to capture optical audio from 16 MM film, but not magnetic audio. Magnetic sound will look like a copper colored bar running down the length of the film whereas optical will look more like a jagged line going up/down. Since you have transferable audio on your Super 8 film, don't forget to check off "Actual Audio" under your audio options when placing your order. Q:

On our honeymoon to jamaica we purchased a video of us walking up Dunn river falls. Is this able to be transferred since it's not a home movie?

Q:

Can I edit the conversions you do once we receive them back? If so, do we need special editing programs to do that or is it somehow built in?? Thanks

Dan B.  asked on  Feb 5, 2013

A:

Hi Dan, thanks for the question. The the files on the DVD are not restricted, which means you are free to utilize the video files on your disc and use editing software on your computer. Your YesDVD has a built-in PC editing program called Digital Scrapbook. However, this software is only compatible with Windows 2000/ WindowsXP. We would like to take this time to let you know that film, tape, and digitam media transfer orders will include access to our MemoryShare website which will allow you to view, share, edit and order additional copies of your videos online. You can use our online editing tool to create an additional customized DVD for $8.99 plus shipping. If you would like to learn more about our Groupon deal and transfer service, you can also visit our website here.

Q:

I have several old VHS tapes, but they really need editing. Alot of footage is bad. Can Yes Video work with me in cutting out some of the footage?

Cheryl S.  asked on  Feb 5, 2013

A:

Hi Cheryl, thanks for the question. At this time, we do not provide a service to edit the footage before it is transferred to a DVD. However, I would like to take this time to let you know that your film transfer order will include access to our MemoryShare website which will allow you to view, share, edit and order additional copies of your videos online. While you won't be able to edit the footage prior to receiving a DVD, you can always use our online editing tool to create an additional customized DVD for $8.99 plus shipping. Alternatively, since the files on the DVD are not restricted, you may always utilize the video files on your disc and use editing software on your computer.
