Q:

Need clarification again. I have gone thru my tapes and determined that I have 6 VHS tapes. All have different time usage on them. One is 2 minutes long (baby ultrasound), one is about 5 minutes and the others vary from 20 minutes to an hour. So does this deal allow for multiple tapes, not to exceed 2 hours. What is the best way for me to get all 6 tapes moved to a DVD?

Carole  asked on  Feb 10, 2013

A:

We are always happy to help! This deal offers $60 worth of transfer services for the price of $19; that's an automatic $40 savings! We do not merge tapes together, so each tape submitted will be transferred on to its own DVD and have a base price of $19.99. Since you have six tapes, that would have a base price of $119.94 without the Groupon, and only $59.94 with the Groupon.

Q:

I have a Groupon voucher for your transfer services that I purchased at an earlier date that I haven't used yet. Can I use that for 3 VHS-C tapes and purchase another Groupon now with this offer and submit 3 additional VHS-C tapes? If so, can I send all 6 tapes in the same box with the two vouchers? Thanks!

Darlene W.  asked on  Feb 9, 2013

A:

Hi Darlene, Thanks for your question. At this time our Groupons are for first time customers one per household so you wouldn't be able to purchase and use a second one. We do however, offer our customers pretty significant discounts if you're signed up to receive our promotional offers -- sometimes up to 50% off. So look for those in the future. If you are not signed up for our email promotions you can go here to immediately get a 25% off coupon off your next transfer -- https://www.yesvideo.com/special-offers.aspx. Cheers and thanks so much for your original purchase!

Q:

Is sound from Super 8 and 16MM film also copied onto the output DVD? Is the output sound kept in sync with the film images? Is sound from VHS kept in sync with the original video image? What type of output DVD is used? DVD-R, DVD-RW, single layer, or ...?

jl N.  asked on  Feb 8, 2013

A:

Great question, jl. We can capture the magnetic audio from Super 8 films and the optical audio from16mm films on the DVD. When you place your order online, just select "Actual Audio" for the background music. If we find audio on your Super 8 or 16mm films, we will capture it. Yes, the sound will be in sync with the film or video image when it is transferred. In regards to your question about the output DVD used, we use DVD-R discs. Q:

I have two Pal-secam DVD's. Do you convert them to NTSC? And does that qualify under the Groupon deal?

Louis d.  asked on  Feb 8, 2013

A:

Thank you for the question, Louis. You can submit PAL tapes to be transferred to DVD with the Groupon deal. However, we cannot transfer SECAM tapes to DVD. Our pricing is $19.99 per video tape, up to 2 hours. We do not merge tapes together, so each tape submitted will be transferred on to its own DVD and have a base price of $19.99. The 2 hour limit is listed in the event that you have a tape longer than two hours. Since the DVDs can hold up to 2 hours, any tape exceeding two hours will require a new DVD to be made and a cost of $19.99 per additional DVD created. Q:

To clarify: If I have 3 videotapes (2 hours each) that I want to send in, can I do that on one Groupon? is that what I understand your offer below to include? Also, is there a way to edit? As I have some video of my son on a VHS that has a TV program taped. Of course I only want my son and not the TV show. Is that possible? Services include conversion of videotapes into DVDs ($57.97 for three two-hour tapes) and conversion of 3-inch reels into DVD ($54.00 for six reels). The staff can also transfer photos, slides, and negatives onto a DVD ($59.78 for 122 photos).

Carole  asked on  Feb 7, 2013

A:

Hi Carole! Yes, you can definitely submit your tapes and use your Groupon! Since our pricing is $19.99 per tape, up to two hours, your 3 two-hour video tapes would amount to $59.97, which is covered under the $60 Groupon value! We would only be able to omit the copyright footage and transfer your tape if it is not alternating footage and does not exceed our limit of two time stamps (a start and stop time). Since you know your tape has copyright material, we recommend including a note indicating to "omit copyright content" on the special instructions field of your order documents.

At this time, we do not provide a service to edit the footage before it is transferred to a DVD. However, I would like to take this time to let you know that your video tape transfer order will include access to our MemoryShare website which will allow you to view, share, edit and order additional copies of your videos online. While you won't be able to edit the footage prior to receiving a DVD, you can always use our online editing tool to create an additional customized DVD for $8.99 plus shipping. Alternatively, since the files on the DVD are not restricted, you may always utilize the video files on your disc and use editing software on your computer.
