Q:

I have high quality 8mm video tapes I'd like to digitize into HD. Into what video format and resolution do you digitize the video and audio?

Alfonso V.  asked on  Feb 6, 2013

A:

Hi Alfonso, thanks for the question. We are not able to transfer video tapes to HD/ Blu-Ray formats. Video tape are transferred at a 720 x 480 resolution. Initially, your footage is transferred to an MPEG 2 format but finalized into a .VOB for viewing on DVD players. Q:

I have approximately 300 minutes, which are on 6 different VHS cassettes. How much would that cost?

Susan D.  asked on  Feb 6, 2013

A:

Hi Susan. Our pricing is $19.99 per video tape, up to two hours. We do not merge tapes together, so each tape submitted will be transferred on to its own DVD and have a base price of $19.99. Any tape exceeding two hours will require a new DVD to be made, with a cost of $19.99 per additional DVD created. This means that while the final cost of your transfer would depend on the duration time of each individual tape, your base price would be $119.94.
