Q:

How many 35 mm slides might one have digitized with the Groupon offer?

Amelia T.  asked on  Feb 7, 2013

A:

122 photos can be digitized for $59.78. If you spend more than the Groupon, you can simply pay the difference.

Marty S.  from  Self  replied on  Feb 7, 2013

A:

Thanks for the question, Amelia! Our pricing for slides to DVD is $0.49 per image. Since the Groupon is worth $60 of transfer services, it can cover up to 122 slides to DVD. As Marty said, 122 slides adds up to $59.78 and if you submit more than 122 slides to transfer, your credit card will be billed the amount that exceeds the Groupon value. Q:

My daughter's wedding was filmed on 2 VHS tapes that together run for less than 2 hours. I would like those tapes combined onto 1 DVD. What would the cost for that 1 combined DVD be? Thanks

Judy S.  asked on  Feb 8, 2013

A:

Each videotape transferred is $19.99.

Marty S.  from  Self  replied on  Feb 8, 2013

A:

Good question, Judy. Just as Marty mentioned, our pricing is $19.99 per video tape, up to 2 hours. We do not merge tapes together, so each tape submitted will be transferred on to its own DVD and have a base price of $19.99. The 2 hour limit is listed in the event that you have a tape longer than two hours. To learn more about our Groupon deal and transfer service, you can also visit our website here.

Q:

I discovered that my parents have old reel-to-reel music taped on about 5 or 6 reels. Do you or do you know of anyone that can convert reel-to-reel music to CD format?

Derek H.  asked on  Feb 8, 2013

A:

Unfortunately YesVideo does not offer such a service. I suggest googling for a service in your area.

Marty S.  from  Self  replied on  Feb 8, 2013

A:

Thanks for the question, Derek. We can transfer a variety of media formats to DVD. However, as Marty said, we cannot transfer reel-to-reel audio to CD. We are not able to provide a service to transfer audio-only formats to CD/DVD. If you would like to learn more about the services that we provide, you can go to our website here.

Q:

I have VHS tapes of football games originally broadcasted on TV. Can I transfer these to DVDs?

Richard S.  asked on  Feb 8, 2013

A:

No, unfortunately you cannot transfer broadcast material.

Marty S.  from  Self  replied on  Feb 8, 2013

A:

Hi Richard, thanks for the question. As Marty said, we cannot transfer broadcast material to DVD. YesVideo's focus is to help your family relive, share and protect special moments; we do not focus on transfers of copyrighted commercial material. Any copyright-protected material, such as Hollywood movie videotapes and videotaped television programs, cannot be processed without a copyright release form signed by the copyright owner. Q:

Hello. I have an old Kodak 8 mm movie camera, and several dozen movies (I guess super 8 mm). This was the first camera in the 70's with sound. Do you transfer these types of movies to DVD? I can't find anyone with sound capability. Thanks.

Ida F.  asked on  Feb 6, 2013

A:

Great question, Ida! Yes, we are able to transfer audio from Super 8 movie film. However, the only audio we can transfer from Super 8 movie film is magnetic audio; we are not able to transfer optical audio from Super 8 movie film. Magnetic sound will look like a copper colored bar running down the length of the film whereas optical will look more like a jagged line going up/down. Our pricing for film transfers is $0.18 per foot; if you do have transferable audio, don't forget to select "Actual Audio" as the audio option when placing your order. Q:

I have a movie which was shot years ago, and goes with an audio tape of a poem, could you syncronize these into 1 DVD???? Bobbi

Barbara W.  asked on  Feb 6, 2013

A:

Hi Barbara, thank you so much for your interest in our service. We are able to transfer 8 mm, super 8, and 16 mm film. However, we would not be able to synchronize the two. Our pricing for film transfers is $0.18 per foot. To read more about our Groupon offer, you can also visit our website here!

Q:

Is the cost per VHS tape or length of time on the tape as I am not sure how much time is on each of my VHS-c tapes. And also, if I wanted more than 1 copy of the DVDs, how much additional cost would that be?

Bob G.  asked on  Feb 6, 2013

A:

Hi, Bob. Our pricing is $19.99 per video tape, up to two hours. We do not merge tapes together, so each tape submitted will be transferred on to its own DVD and have a base price of $19.99. Any tape exceeding two hours will require a new DVD to be made, with a cost of $19.99 per additional DVD transfers produced. Additional DVD copies of the same transfer are priced at $8.99 per copy. Q:

I would like to have some of my son's school pictures and personal pictured scanned. Will I be able to make print copies of the photos from the DVD?

Sherry S.  asked on  Feb 6, 2013

A:

Thanks for the question, Sherry. With image transfers, we produce a data DVD with highest quality digital JPEG files (12 megapixels) to view and copy on your computer; the product is delivered without additional themes or audio. You will be able to utilize the digital files on your disc to create prints. Q:

I have an audio tape that I would like to convert to a CD. Can you do that? I would be happy to pay the Groupon price for this.

Katie E.  asked on  Feb 6, 2013

A:

Hi Katie, thank you so much for your interest in our service. Unfortunately, we are not able to transfer audio only formats. However, we have many accepted formats you may be interested in, including various types of video tapes, film reels, images (slides, negatives, prints), and digital media (USB sticks, memory cards). You can submit any of those to have transferred on to a DVD! To read more about our Groupon offer, you can also visit our website here!

Q:

I have several VHS tapes that I would like put on DVD but they need to be edited. If I send one that has 30 mins and the more into the tape has another 30 mins do they edit that stuff?

Susan W.  asked on  Feb 6, 2013

A:

Hi, Susan. Our pricing is $19.99 per video tape, up to two hours. We do not merge tapes together, so each tape submitted will be transferred on to its own DVD and have a base price of $19.99. At this time, we do not provide a service to edit the footage before it is transferred to a DVD. However, I would like to take this time to let you know that your film transfer order will include access to our MemoryShare website which will allow you to view, share, edit and order additional copies of your videos online. While you won't be able to edit the footage prior to receiving a DVD, you can always use our online editing tool to create an additional customized DVD for $8.99 plus shipping. Alternatively, since the files on the DVD are not restricted, you may always utilize the video files on your disc and use editing software on your computer.
