Commonly Asked Questions

Q:

Does this pass have to be used consecutively or whenever the buyer is available. How will they track the 25 days that the customer has attended the Y?

Linda P.  asked on  Jul 15, 2013

A:

Great question! The Groupon is for 25 day passes that do not need to be used consecutively. They just need to be redeemed by the expiration date, which is 9/30/13.

Q:

Can childcare be used with these visits?

June D.  asked on  Jul 15, 2013

A:

If babysitting services are open during your visit to one of the Ys, you will be able to drop off your child in the babysitting room. Call the location you are visiting for more specific details about hours and guidelines.

More Questions and Answers

Q:

Can I purchase one of these as a gift for my teenage child who isn't quite 18 or would I have to purchase two, one for me to bring her in and one for her? A passport would be used for identification.

christina g.  asked on  Jul 21, 2013

A:

Very sorry, but the person who's name appears on the passes need to be 18 or older. You would need to purchase the passes for yourself, and would be able to bring your daughter as a guest. If bringing a guest, 2 passes would be used at a time.

Q:

Is cycling at the Burbank YMCA in Reading covered with this groupon? I understand from previous questions that any class that is available at no additional charge to members is included, but when I go on the Y's site for their indoor cycling classes there is a registration button....it could just be to reserve a bike, but want to confirm that the registration notation doesn't indicate that the class is in another category of class that might not be included. Thank you.

Erin L.  asked on  Jul 19, 2013

A:

I reached out to the Burbank location, and they confirmed that you can take cycling classes with this Groupon; you just need to sign up for class in advance to reserve a bike. For more information, please call their location at (781) 944-9622.

Q:

Can I buy and paid this groupon as a gift and my friend/husband name will appear on the groupon for his/her future use?

Nancy C.  asked on  Jul 19, 2013

A:

Thanks for the question! You're welcome to purchase this Groupon as a gift. The Groupon voucher itself will not have a name on it. You can give the voucher to whoever you'd like, and they will bring their voucher to the Y to exchange it for their passes. They will need to present their ID with their Groupon voucher, and the Y will print their passes with their name on them. I hope this helps clarify!

Q:

Although the question has already been asked twice, the answers were conflicting. Question: Can the passes only be used by one "named" person, or for example, can my husband and I buy the 25 passes and both use them? Example, we both go on the same day, but use up two of the day passes to do so. Thank you.

Erin L.  asked on  Jul 18, 2013

A:

The passes will be issued in the name of the person who redeems the Groupon. If you redeem the Groupon, your name will appear on the passes. You're welcome to then bring your husband as a guest and use 2 of your passes at a time. However, you wouldn't be able to split the passes up and go separately. If you plan to go at different times, you'll each need your own Groupon so you can each get passes issued in your own names.
