Thank you so much for offering this Groupon AND not restricting it to new students. I wouldn't be able to afford a membership without a Groupon.

What You'll Get

Sometimes our dreams are within reach, but more often, those dreams are on the highest of high shelves, beside the BB gun and the cupcakes "for tomorrow." Reach that shelf with today's Groupon: for $30, you get one month of unlimited group classes (a $100 value) at Yoga Body & Balance, located in the South 48th Street neighborhood.

Led by Tataya and Thomas Radtke, Yoga Body & Balance's team of talented and friendly instructors helps fledgling fitness-seekers brush up on breathing and bending techniques until they're calm and curvy as a snoozing snake. Yoga combines challenging, low-impact stretches and sequential poses with strategic breathing and meditation, making it a holistic way to increase strength and flexibility, release stress and anxiety, and promote overall body-mind smelting. Yoga Body & Balance offers instruction in a wide variety of popular techniques to suit neophytes as stiff as a Dalek's arm and yoga veterans as flexible as enlightened taffy alike. Classes include traditional instruction in basic yoga and pared-down yoga elements, prenatal yoga for bun-bearing yogis, more intensive hot yoga, and meditative silent yoga. Classes are conveniently scheduled throughout each day of the week, and last anywhere from 60 to 90 minutes.

Cool colors, soothing music, and the sweet aromas of softly simmering essential oils greet Yoga Body's visitors upon entrance, at once relaxing overworked muscles and enlivening lazy limbs. The studio provides a tranquil, welcoming environment for students of all walks, trots, and gallops of life, but ensures that everyone will leave with a slightly more elegant stride. Come to class wearing comfortable, loose-fitting clothes, and the studio will provide all other props (e.g. mats, blocks, and blankets). Yoga Body also provides complimentary organic tea and water to aid in your hydration, sweat production, and Flashdancing. For hot-yoga classes, Yoga Body & Balance requests that you bring your own mat.

Although there are not many reviews available, three Yelpers give Yoga Body & Balance a perfect five stars:

  • The poses are gentle and yet challenging. Some of the classes are slow, some move faster, yet none are boring.. – Hanna D.
  • The people here represent the progressive-and-healthy minded young element in Lincoln. – Heather B.
  • This is very challenging and rewarding yoga. – Alexis Z.

About Yoga Body & Balance

Owners Tataya and Thomas Radtke originally began Yoga Body & Balance in the living room of their home. Since then, they have expanded to new location with enough space to host the studio's eclectic assortment of yoga classes and bodywork treatments. Having studied Hatha, Ashtanga, and Anusara yoga, Tataya supervises varied sessions for a range of ages and skill levels, from gentle, introspective styles to vigorous, athletically based classes. This extensive range of opportunities allows students of various flexibilities to pursue a style that corresponds with the desired realism of their Gumby Halloween costume.

In addition to yoga, the center also treats visitors with various types of bodywork, such as Thai massage, Lakota raindrop technique, and sustained bear hugs. Alongside acupuncture sessions with a licensed therapist, these treatments work to target the symptoms of physical pain while also addressing the energetic imbalances believed to cause them.
