This was a groupon I bought while on a trip to Hawaii, it wasn't the best weather that day and I was unsure how it would be. It ended up being a excellent experience. The teacher was so helpful to those who were new to Yoga Kai as well as the people that was returning. She had a safe spot for out personal items that we didn't want on the water, she was great at instructor and modifying for those who needed it. The sun even peeked out and it was a GREAT experience, I would recommend for visitors and those who live in the area. 10/10! Thanks Yoga Kai!

It was really awesome because the instructor taught us with detailed instructions. She let us play around and practice poses for 20-30 minutes even after the 1 hour 15 min session. I guess they let you do that when they aren't too busy. She took photos of us while we were posing, to post to their Facebook page, so I'm waiting to see and download them. The board is nice. You can attach your sunglasses and water camera on the strap at the top of the board.

I've gone to 2 classes with two different instructors -- Star and Moria -- who were both AMAZING. The instructors at Yoga Kai are all about making the class fun and accessible for all levels and clearly care a lot about making sure everyone is happy and comfortable. It's a very different experience doing yoga on the ocean and takes some getting used to, so I really appreciate that the instructors are sensitive to that. They capitalize on the fact that you are out on the water, bringing attention to the specific surroundings during shavasana and it's a great opportunity to feel connected to nature while getting your yoga on. I went to one morning class and one evening class and I do have to say, seeing the sunset while doing yoga on the water was especially amazing. The morning class is definitely a good option too, particularly if you get cold in the evenings and want some time in the sun afterwards. I definitely plan to take friends and family to this class when they come for a visit! https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g60982-d7156235-r566111258-Yoga_Kai-Honolulu_Oahu_Hawaii.html#

About Yoga Kai

When Leah returned to the coast of Southern California after years of living inland, she did so to ensure that her unborn son could grow up with plenty of sun, sand, and water. But her homecoming blessed her with more than just the familiar beaches of her youth. Leah also discovered yoga, using the practice as a means to heal and grow stronger after her pregnancy. She became a passionate yogi, and eventually an instructor. Then, Leah and her family moved to Hawaii. "My husband and I knew that moving to Hawaii was not something ordinary people like us got to do," she explains. "Therefore, from the minute we landed on the island, we made it our goal to not only make each day count for us, but to share our island adventures with others.”

All of this culminated in Leah starting her own business in Honolulu, Yoga Kai Paddle Yoga. It's a business that allows her to combine all of her life's passions, as she teaches classes that fuse yoga with stand-up paddleboarding. After guiding students out to float on Oahu's pristine waters, she leads them through a series of simple stretches and poses. The motion of the water serves as a natural way to test balance and form, and it encourages practitioners to develop body awareness in a way that doing yoga in a classroom or on a leaky waterbed just can't.

When it came time for Leah and her family to return to the mainland in 2017, she chose to pass her legend on to her good friend and Wanderlust assistant, Ashley. Ashley has been growing Yoga Kai as owner-operator ever since and strives to continue to share their mutual adoration for SUP Yoga while adding new locations, instructors, programs and her own unique flare through the business.
