What You'll Get
Before filming a claymation movie, the entire cast is required to attend a month of limbering yoga, ensuring each figurine is able to withstand relentless manipulation from the director's heavily buttered hands. Cultivate your body's bendiness with today's Groupon: for $28, you get one month of unlimited group yoga classes (a $99 value) plus one 60-minute private lesson (a $75 value) at Yoga Kamala (a $174 total value). The tranquil studio is conveniently located in the heart of downtown Scottsdale, nimbly tucked below Sachi Salon & Spa. This Groupon is also valid at Yoga Breeze in Cave Creek.
At Yoga Kamala, each invigorating class in infused with a positive affirmation, sending students back into the real world with confidence, responsibly rose-colored specs, and a fresh flush in their cheeks to match. Yoga combines challenging, low-impact stretches and sequential poses with strategic breathing and meditation, making it a holistic way to increase strength and flexibility, release stress and anxiety, and promote overall body-mind smelting. Yoga Kamala offers instruction in a wide variety of popular techniques to suit all skill levels and yogaspirations, including group classes in traditional Ashtanga Flow, modern-dance-infused Creative Vinyasa, and gently meditative Mantra Flow—extreme meditation classes are also available to those who know the secret exhaled pass code (hint: it rhymes with "orange"). Classes are generally scheduled in the morning, midday, and evening Monday–Saturday, and last anywhere from 40 to 75 minutes.
Before, during, or after starting the month of unlimited classes, brush up on your breathing and bending abilities during a 60-minute private session with one of Yoga Kamala's skilled, dedicated instructors. You can choose to receive your one-on-one guidance in basic yoga, meditation, or reiki healing, the Japanese technique for stress reduction. Escape daily stresses and retreat to Yoga Kamala's beautiful, relaxing studio to enjoy your individualized attention, or schedule an in-home private session to practice the downward dog beside your actual doggie. To keep your focus on point, this Groupon also gets you 50% off a purchase of the studio's vision ribbons ($9.99).
Though there are few online reviews of Yoga Kamala, seven Google Mappers give it a perfect five stars:
- I have taken yoga from many instructors put nothing compares to Beth's (director) Yoga class. She has a wealth of knowledge that she shares with all her students. – Derek
- Great Classes! The teacher listens and communicates very clearly. I highly recommend!!! I have lost about 25 pounds doing Yoga, and I am so much more relaxed in my daily life. – sonj223

About Spa Lamar
Heidi Lamar didn't know much about spas when she first purchased Spa Lamar. As she explained to reporters from Skin Inc., "not coming from a spa background, there were things I didn't know I couldn't do." Unhindered by industry conventions or previously fixed ideas, Heidi set about filling her 14,000-square-foot spa with innovative amenities—from a luxurious waterfall-fed pool to an onsite yoga and dance studio. She also cultivates locals instead of the typical resort crowd, banishing cacti from the decor in favor of a Caribbean-style ambiance that, as she told the Arizona Republic, caters to those who already live in Arizona and want to get away to a tropical island. Today, her media-lauded spa is the largest privately owned spa in Scottsdale and is frequented by locals, including members of the Phoenix Suns Dancers.
Before treatments that include massages, acupuncture, mani-pedis, and facials, guests garbed in fluffy complimentary robes duck into the steam room. They sample wholesome lunches and fruit plates from the tropical tea bar and relax in the sauna while waiting for a haircut or warm algae wrap. Sunbathers float around the pool on loungers, whereas others simmer in a bubbling whirlpool. Unlike many traditional spas, Spa Lamar is completely coed, making it an ideal place for couples that are on a first date or permanently trapped together inside a horse costume with a broken zipper.
