Q:

I had a disk replacement in my neck on August 14th. I am feeling good, and I'm not under any restrictions. My upper back, shoulder, and neck muscles are extremely tight and painful and I thought yoga might be helpful. Am I right? I'm concerned, though, that all of the poses may just tense my muscles more and cause more discomfort. What do you have to say to this? Ever have anyone in class a couple months post-op? I've never really done yoga before except for one class here or there...

Megan B.  asked on  Sep 14, 2012

A:

Megan, You should ask your doctor what he thinks as this is starting to sound like a medical question. Practically, however, there is only one way to find out. People practice (and teach) and find relief at our studio who have had many different kind of surgeries/injuries to the spine. If you do come, you should consider starting in Forrest Yoga classes and please let your teacher know exactly what has happened BEFORE CLASS. Yoga is not a cure all, but it certainly benefits many many people.

Karthik B.  asked on  Sep 13, 2012

A:

All classes are all levels, but we usual steer beginners to Hot Yoga (especially 90 mins), Flow 101, Yoga for Athletes or Forrest Yoga. We have beginners in almost all classes all the time. Please read our FAQs on our website before coming: www.yogaonehouston.com You can use the 10 classes on any of the classes on the schedule (different or same) at both studios. Q:

Once we "activate" our Groupon, do we have to use ALL 10 classes within one month of activation, or until December 31st? Thanks!

Roxanne S.  asked on  Sep 13, 2012

A:

The 10 classes must be used by December 31, 2012, regardless of when you activate. There are two deals. One is a 10 class pass (all of which classes must be USED by December 31, 2012). The other is a 30 day ("monthly") unlimited yoga pass (which is just a 30 days pass and expires 30 days after activation, and must be activated by December 1, 2012). See you soon on the mat.

Q:

What are the restrictions on the month long classes? Do you have to use them all within the same month?

Theresa W.  asked on  Sep 13, 2012

A:

It is 30 days of unlimited yoga. You can attend all classes on the regular schedule of both studios during that 30 days. SInce it is 30 days, you come all you want for 30 days and it expires at the end of 30 days after you activate the pass and attend your first class. You must activate by Dec 1.
