A Chat with YogaSport
What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
We are a studio dedicated to creating an amazing community of people. We started in 2004 and were one of the first locally owned power yoga studios in town. Today we are proud of our incredible community of people dedicated to growth in all aspects of their lives.
Exercise is challenging. How do you keep clients motivated and engaged?
We motivate our students through laughter and play. Our yoga style is athletic and sweaty but it’s not pretzely or intimidating. Our instructors are well trained (all by our owner, Angela Wagner) and most classes have a dedicated assistant who guides students in their postures.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
I started YogaSport because I wanted to create the Cheers of Dallas yoga studios. YS is a studio where everyone is welcome and everyone really does know your name! This community of yogis has grown to be supportive, loving and motivating. It truly is unique.
What do you love most about your job?
I love connecting with and learning about people. Today we are so connected over devices and it’s special to be able to connect with people on a real level. I feel honored to be a part of my student’s lives and am grateful they choose to practice with us.
During a typical class at YogaSport, there is no music. There are no mirrors on the walls. In fact, there's very little in the way of distractions. The goal of the studio's power yoga classes is to cut through life's white noise and allow practitioners to listen to their own bodies and minds. With the studio heated to a sweat-inducing 90 degrees, newcomers and experienced yogis alike flow through a series of intense poses designed to accelerate heart rates, loosen muscles, and melt any popsicles you may have accidentally swallowed whole.
