$25 for 60 Ride Tickets or Two Unlimited-Ride Wristbands ($50 Value)

Visitors to this year’s Sheep Thrills and Muddy Wheels fair have a choice between 60 ride tickets or two wristbands valid for unlimited admission to rides, which are generally 3–4 tickets each. Festivities take place from August 15 to August 19, 2012. Entry to the fair is free, but there may be additional fees for special events.

Yolo County Fair

What began as a marquee horse race in 1893 has grown into an annual institution supporting the Yolo County Fair Heritage Foundation. A public space where local farmers, musicians, and restaurateurs can showcase their wares, the fair also includes livestock exhibits and a flower house and gardens. Local performers sound off from two separate stages, and the Destruction Derby trades the crash of drum kits for the metal clanks of colliding vehicles. Concession vendors and carnival rides provide refreshment and thrills for the young, old, and cryogenically frozen.

Midway of Fun

Midway of Fun makes sure that county fairs all over California and Nevada stay stocked with the kind of flashing, whirling fun that families have enjoyed for generations. A safety-focused team of pros sets up rides that range from sweet (Toon Town Train, Carousel, and Minions) to nail-biting (Zipper, Ranger, and spinning Vertigo). The team also sets up games and concession stands at locations across the state.
