The Fine Print
About Yonkers Brewing Co.
Yonkers Brewing Co.'s co-founders John Rubbo and Nick Califano used to help their grandfathers craft homemade wine. The process left them with fond memories of crushing grapes, but also with a knack for crafting their own libatons. In 2012, the concept of brewing their own beer dawned upon the John and Nick, which led to the creation of Yonkers Brewing shortly thereafter.
Occupying the former Yonkers Trolley Barn—a building listed on the National Register of Historic Places in downtown Yonkers—Yonkers Brewing Co. churns out handcrafted brews beneath soaring, 20-foot ceilings and surrounded by exposed brick walls. Yonkers fans can venture beyond those walls and through the brewing areas during free guided tours every weekend. Afterward, they can stick around to sip brews and munch on the menu's selection of small plates, sandwiches, salads, and sweets.
