You and the Mat
You and the Mat works to meld yoga with art, offering the art of yoga instruction and doubling as a gallery for local artists. The eco-conscious center’s hardwood-floored studio provides a space where yogis of all skill levels can stretch, bend, and strengthen their bodies during classes seven days a week. From sunrise and prenatal yoga to yoga for fitness, each session on the schedule offers a fun and challenging experience guided by one of 13 handpicked instructors.
Then, like a werewolf transforms into Andy Warhol, by night the studio becomes an art gallery, displaying original work from local artists. Past artists have included photographer Richard Seagraves, musician David Ryan Harris, and Robert Sturman, who showcased his most recent exhibition, "Artist & Muse: The Girl In The Red Dress." Regular art events let patrons take in the visual and audio masterpieces while mingling in the studio’s welcoming atmosphere.
