A Chat with Young at Art
What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
We are a place where artists can create their own visions. There are no rules to your art at our studio. Our artists range from the age of 2-102. Everyone can come in and use our material and our space to help put their creations together.
Do you provide any materials? What should your students expect to bring?
Every week we have a new theme for our craft section. For example, this week is photography week so we provide a box camera you can design, mustache props to cut and paste, and popsicle picture frames to paint and design. The student/artist does not have to bring anything. We provide aprons too.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
I received my Master of Arts in Teaching in 2010. I enjoyed teaching in the classroom, but I wanted to teach art with my own ideology. Freedom in art is truly a concept that I want to convey. Artists of all ages can come in and truly express themselves in their own style of art. No rules.
What do you love most about your job?
I love seeing our artists grow. From their first visit when many can be overwhelmed by all the fun artistic activities to their third visit when they come running in and start creating one amazing art piece after the next.
