The seeds of chefhood blossom from the very first dashes of salt and cinnamon that grace a child's suppertime lima beans. Today's Groupon encourages the culinary spirit in the youth of today, who are the former children of tomorrow: for $15, kids ages three to 18 get one 90-minute cooking class (a $35 value) at Young Chefs Academy.

Young Chefs Academy provides a fun, safe, and motivational environment for kids to become acquainted with food and food presentation. Engaging chefstructors teach kitchen etiquette and safety to youngsters who, growing up in a world full of laser can openers, don't always have the know-how to have a healthy, safe journey into the land of food. Classes educate age groups from kindercook to junior chef and combine nutritional meals with basic food-prep and food-comprehension skills, such as following a recipe to edible fruition. Senior chefs are offered advanced classes that dig deeper into kitchen secrets and hone specific skills and techniques that expand the parameters of cooking creativity. Call ahead to reserve a spot in a class.

Though this Groupon is not valid toward Young Chefs Academy's special events, mini-camps, and birthday packages, it may be applied to a cupcake upgrade on a birthday package (call ahead for details).

  • My daughter had fun and learned a lot about cooking. She now fixes entire dinners for the family and bakes too! Her experience expanded her palate and even made me want to try some new food items. – Dottie60, Citysearch
  • My daughter absolutely loved this camp and she tried so many different foods that I never thought I'd ever see her eat. This camp really expanded my daughter's eating habbits [sic] as well as being a blast for her to actually cook everything herself. – rpape, Citysearch
