The traditional method for preparing sushi requires slices of raw fish to be held over unlit fires in order to secure that signature “uncooked” flavour. Explore such innovative foodsmithing with today’s Groupon to Yummyaki Japanese Restaurant in Waterloo. A recipient of Waterloo Chronicle's Readers’ Choice Award in 2010, Yummyaki Restaurant is an all you can eat Japanese eatery serving fresh, authentic food prepared by the chef owners. The nosh til you drop line-up includes appetizers, tempura, noodle dishes, and cooked entrées, as well as sushi and sashimi for food the way cardinal raw foodist Mother Nature intended. The friendly, casual atmosphere is accented with an Asian-inspired interior complete with splashes of lime green and warm wood accents. Choose from two soy-sauce worthy dining options:

For $15 you get $30 worth of food and drinks on Friday and Saturday For $12 you get $24 worth of food and drinks on Sunday – Thursday

The Record ran a favourable write up of Yummyaki, TripAdvisors give the eatery a 3.5 average star rating, and Restaurantica users give it a four star average rating.

  • Food critics avoid the adjective "yummy." Yet many dishes at Yummyaki Japanese Restaurant are just that. – Trevor Charles, The Record
  • I'm always going out to restaurants with friends, colleagues and family, and Yummyaki is absolutely delicious compared to the many places I have dined in within the region. – Sammy, Restaurantica

Customer Reviews

Some of the variety of Sushi has decreased since the first time I purchased the Groupons but, for the most part, still remains a good quality small Japanese restaurant to go to.

My family loves the restaurant, especially my very picky son. Redeemed the coupon by taking a colleague from work who had never been there. She loved it as well and plans to take her husband and 2 teenage sons. I have introduced a few colleagues to this restaurant and all feedback has been extremely positive.
