Word for Word theatre company bring works of literature to life onstage in a unique way by using every word of the featured text. In their latest production you'll see Colm Tóibín's Silence, which presents the true story of the transient and intense love affair between Lady Gregory and the young poet Wilfrid Scawen Blunt. Although their affair was secret, she lays out many details in the love poems she gave him to publish as his own work. Her self-containment and reserved passion are impressively imagined, as women's interior lives are one of Tóibín's great strengths. Emma Donoghue's Night Vision tells the story of a young, blind Frances Browne, who thrived on education once she was allowed to partake in it, and whose determination helped her to become one of Ireland's most renowned poets.
