We have a fat old lab and ordered the large bed. It's very big! the cats like the extra room because they now sleep on it with him.
We did end up purchasing a memory foam bed to put on top of it, but he liked it without it.
So, might not be necessary?

Delivery was quick. And so far, it's what is advertised. Quite strong on high. Good value. Hope it lasts a long time. As I plan on using it quite a bit.

My dog laid down on it immediately and would not get off. She was noticeably cooler after laying it. The large was bigger than I expected. My dog is 65lbs and there was definitely room for her to be completely already out.
