Frustrating Check-In and Poor Service As a globalist, our experience at this hotel was unfortunately disappointing from the start. Check-in was slow because only one front desk staff was working, and with four guests ahead of me, it took about 15 minutes. Meanwhile, my husband was waiting in the car with our children, but there was no help with luggage and no proper place for guests to wait. The valet attendant was visibly annoyed and asked him to move the car. My husband decided to self-park in the garage, and I planned to meet him there. However, I couldn’t find any signs from the lobby directing me to the parking garage. After wandering around, I gave up and returned to the lobby. Eventually, my husband had to come up and get me himself. When I mentioned this confusion to the front desk, they admitted the signage was unclear. To make matters worse, the room key didn’t work. I asked for a replacement, but the second key didn’t work either. I called and was told someone from maintenance would be sent to help, but after waiting five minutes with no response, I went back down to the front desk only to find they hadn’t even contacted maintenance yet. Ultimately, we were moved to a different room, but it was a smaller than the original room. Overall, the lack of organization, unclear signage, and poor customer service left us feeling frustrated and unwelcome.

Good hotel, great location I stayed in a corner room on the 11th floor. The room was a nice size; but the bathroom door hit into the toilet. The internet wouldn’t connect to WiFi on my last two days so I couldn’t get work done. I loved the location being within walking distance to shops and restaurants. Really hated there was no pool.

Great place to stay This hotel is very nice and staff are extremely accommodating. Location to the metro is a bonus and the Starbucks in the hotel was amazing. I also loved the ice and water refill stations on each floor. Washers and dryers available for guests.

Longtime Guest, Worst Experience Yet – Management Ignored Me I stay at Hyatt Regency Bethesda twice a year for work and have typically had excellent stays. Unfortunately, my most recent visit from June 17–20, 2025 was a major letdown. On the evening of June 19 around 4 PM, the AC in my room stopped working. The hotel engineer, Avenir, spent over two hours attempting to replace the compressor, but was ultimately unsuccessful (I even have a video of the repair effort taking place inside the wall of my room). There were no available rooms with functioning AC, including none matching my booked upgrade, and I was told by the front desk that several guests were experiencing the same issue. Given the circumstances, the staff offered me a refund, and I opted to check out, despite the inconvenience of leaving so late and sweating through the evening. The following morning, I called the hotel to follow up about the refund. I was hung up on once and then sent straight to voicemail. After calling Hyatt corporate, their representative was able to connect me to the hotel, where I eventually spoke with Da-Ron, who stated he was the manager and would “look into it.” I have received no follow-up and am again, unable to get through to the hotel. This is completely unacceptable for a brand like Hyatt. I am requesting that the General Manager, contact me directly to resolve this matter.
