Basic motel but very good value given its relatively close location to downtown Normally an older style standard motel like this gets a three if its clean enough and inexpensive but this one collected a four given its proximity to downtown (about 20 minutes to walk), friendly staff, and breakfast included. The second floor room room was not bad at all and perfectly fine for a two night stay. Avoid the right hand side unless you like the noise and smell of a chicken takeaway. The free breakfast included was a good enough to start the day which added to the feeling that this is a good value option. It seemed a better deal than the two other nearby chain motels where we have previously stayed. There are better motels further out (and some not so good) but these come at a price and the need to have a car or other means of transport if you want to enjoy the excellent downtown restaurant and bar scene.

Good Stay for Solo Traveler I needed a place to spend one night before heading to Grand Canyon National Park. EconoLodge had a reasonable price and I booked the room. I arrived and had no issues with registration at the front desk. I wanted to grab dinner and decided to just walk over next door to ChickFilA considering I didn't feel like driving anywhere and it was so convenient. The room was clean and doors locked. The place had many guests and didn't feel unsafe considering I was solo traveling and safety was my biggest concern with this stay. I checked out the next morning feeling fully rested.

3 1/2 stars - Clean, but old style Clean, but old style motel. One switch for the shower and noisy fan. Did look nice, however. Very secure new door latches. The place was packed, so we weren’t the only ones drawn here. Just off I-17. Looks re-decorated. Could use better pillows.

Unacceptable Took a chance based on the reviews, turned out to be a big mistake. We arrived at 4:30 PM and checked in with the front desk. We were pleased to have been given a first floor room in the back corner of the hotel where we thought it would be quiet. When we walked up, the door was standing wide open. Housekeeping staff said it hadn't been cleaned yet but it would be ready in 5 minutes. Err, 5 minutes? We said we were going to the store and would be back so not to rush. When we finally entered the room, we were at a loss for words. The carpet had black stains in the walkway and all around the bed....A LOT of black stains. We looked at the rest of the room, trying to muster up the courage to stay, knowing our shoes would never come off our feet. The bedspread was wrinkled like it had been wadded up in a pile of laundry....or worse yet, from the previous guest. Upon closer inspection, there were small holes all over, which looked like they were from cigarettes. My husband NEVER complains about anything, but he went to the front desk where our concerns were met with a blank stare and no concern. When we cancelled the reservation, the blank stare turned down to the computer keyboard and we were free, If you find yourself getting the room in the corner of the first floor next to the Chick-Fil-A drive thru...keep walking.

A pleasant surprise! Early check-in accomodated, The person at desk was very nice and helpful with directions. The room was clean, well appointed and other than tissues had everything needed. It's a well kept property with a great location. The pool was clean.
