Horrible experience First concern— there was an older man who helped me check me in that night using the kiosk. He was very friendly, but incredibly inappropriate with his physical boundaries. This man touched my chest, stomach and back several times. It was incredibly bizarre. Other concerns— the only good thing about the room was the comfy bed. There were dead bugs on the floor. There were stains on the bedding. The pillows were paper thin, gross, and one of them didn’t even have a pillowcase on it. The mattress was sliding all over the place on the frame and I even hit my shin on the frame and left a large bruise. The air conditioning would not cool the room and kept turning off. There was only one roll of toilet paper. The towels & rags were stained and filthy. The toilet barely can flush. All night there was commotion and noise in the hallway. The parking lot was full of sketchy people and homeless people who were asking me for money. And lastly, my shower had NO hot water in the morning! Last concern— I paid $120 for the room. I was supposed to receive a $20 refund after checkout , however this "$20 refund" has actually posted to my account as a CHARGE! So I paid $140. I have never in my life complained to a place of business. And I’ve had plenty of bad experiences at restaurants, hotels, etc. But my experience at the Royal Inn was horrible. I spoke with staff and they said they would relay my concerns to the hotel manager (Jay Patel) and that he would call me. But he never did.

BEWARE!!!!! This was the worst hotel experience I have ever had. I booked well ahead of my trip. When I showed up at the hotel, the staff was incredibly rude! They also seem to be playing a game (with what seems like a lot of people after reading other reviews) with reservations. When I went to check in, they claimed I didn't have a reservation. I showed them my proof of reservation and the staff at the front desk refused to honor my reservation and told me I would have to rebook a different room. Of course that room would be hundreds of dollars more. I refused to leave until they honored my reservation, as I had proof. Finally the guy behind the desk went and woke up some lady that works there and she was able to get me a room. She also admitted to me that the staff there are incredibly rude. When I got into the room I was given, I was shocked at the filth and general condition of the room. The light from outside showed through the door because it didn't shut right. The sounds of neighbors tvs were blaring. There were cigarettes on the floor. The TV was broken. There was no phone. There were no toiletries. The were bugs crawling around on the floor. I pulled back the sheets and there was some kind of crust on the sheets. I don't even want to think about what that was. The ac was also not working properly and it was extremely hot in the room. I tried just laying on top of the bed and covering up with my own clothes but gave up when bugs started crawling on me in the bed. I went and told the front desk that there were bugs in the room and they just responded okay. This did not seem to surprise them at all. At that point I just left and drove through the night. I tried going and getting my money back after explaining my experience and they refused to give me my money back. This place is a joke and a health hazard. I would avoid this at all costs. I feel it would have been safer to sleep in my car. I would have definitely been more comfortable. Please book literally anywhere else.

If I could give negative stars for this dump, I would. Where should I start? How about the run down lobby that's in total disrepair? Wait... that's the very best part about this place. Opening the door to the room, we were greeted with a stench that smelled like a combination of raw sewage and Lysol. Lovely! Once we got past that, we noticed that there was no refrigerator (as was advertised). We could live with that, but then we noticed that there was no phone, and shockingly, no alarm clock, either. What did the Royal Inn have? I'd be happy to tell you.... * Roaches * Blood stains on the sheets * Mold * The need for an armed guard in the lobby * Non-working ice machine * A shower that had enough water pressure to almost get your hair wet * A large animal of some kind running around above the water-stained ceiling * Best of all, Royal Inn had neighborhood drug dealers who would prop open the back door and deal drugs in the stairwell next to our room. We had the police remove them once, but they came back. The hotels reaction to it when we contacted the agency who we booked through and complained and demanded that they let us check out and try to find a different (and safer) place to say was "We had the police remove the drug dealers. No refunds." They couldn't have cared less. Absolutely unbelievable. This is, quite literally, the very worst hotel I have ever been in, and I wouldn't stay there again if my house burned down and they offered me a room for free. It was that bad, and I was embarrassed that I'd brought my family there. If you're considering staying at The Royal Inn in Indianapolis, I hope you read this first, and for the safety of your yourself and your family, pick another place.

Terrible This hotel is extremely low quality ! Rooms are very unsatisfactory . Mattress was on the ground , lights on vanity didn’t work . Tube tv . Disgusting ! People live there with their kid riding bikes on second floor . Huge gap under door ( all outside rooms ) scary and unsafe ! Needless to say didn’t stay and front desk wouldn’t give back copy of license to me . Sad to say will never book through reservations . Com ! Called them and they didn’t seem to care too much about the quality or anything I had to say ! Shame people don’t care about cleanliness and service and still have jobs !
