Get the basics right first... Its clear that this hotel is undergoing some improvement work to its rooms. We booked a "Club Room" and this was one of the newly refurbished rooms. We deliberately booked an upgraded room as we were staying for our wedding so wanted something a little more special. As much as the new decor was very nice. There was issues with the basics. *The bedside lamps were not working on one of beds *Some of the plugs didnt work. *The fridge was warm, not working *TV signal was atrocious (this is a hotel wide issue) *No telephone in the room (reception thought there was one in there, no wonder they couldnt get hold of us) But the worst issue was the lack of ventilation/aircon. Granted it was a hot/warm night, but it was way to hot in the room to be able to even sleep. This was not ideal the night prior to my wedding day. Thankfully, the friendly chap at Reception moved us room which we were grateful for. It wasnt an upgraded Club room, but we were just grateful to be moved. Upon checkout i requested if it would be possible for a reduction in the room fee due to the fact we didnt stay in the upgraded cost room. We were honoured a 20% refund which was more than acceptable. So friendly staff on the floor, absolutely! But perhaps get the basics right first in the rooms before splashing out on major refurbs!

A very pleasant stay. All the staff were polite, friendly and helpful. Our room was very clean. The room fan was very welcome on a hot night The hairdryer was of good quality. The provision of an iron and ironing board was a useful addition. Yes,the bathroom was a little outdated but the over bath shower was hot and powerful. The towels were plentiful and of good quality

OK but melted....... Good hotel but can't believe there is no AC anywhere in the hotel. A fan is provided in the bedroom but it was very noisy, we had to leave the windows open and suffer the road noise. Terrible night sleep.

Overlook the signs of wear & tear and it's a great hotel Booked this hotel on the basis it had free car parking (didn't end up going by car!) Salford Quays tram stop is literally across the road from the hotel and this was the cheapest option for the dates that we wanted. Giving our stay 5 stars because while there were signs of wear and tear in the room. It was a large comfortable room and very clean. A few plus and minor points: The shower head in room 405 is in need of replacement because water dribbled out from the sides and onto the floor despite using the shower curtain tucked into the bath. The window curtains were hanging off the rail (room 405) I liked the fact there's magnifying mirror in the bathroom (wish more hotels had this.) Only thing, the light on the mirror didn't work. As others reviewers have mentioned, the television reception is very poor. Admittedly we didn't stay to watch tv but it's nice to have something on before bed and when you're getting ready in the morning. Despite the issues, the room was certainly good value for what we paid. The hotel are in the process of refurbishing the rooms and ours had a new bed and carpets. Room 405 is at the back of the hotel overlooking the canal. Added bonus, the windows in the guest rooms can be opened. Requested some tea bags and milk one evening at reception and we were given a bag full of tea and milk. Unlike some hotels where 1 tea bag is the norm! All the staff were lovely and we had breakfast on 3 occasions which was good value for money. Plenty of choice although I'd love to see vegetarian sausages when we return next year! Oh, and while the hotel website doesn't mention a gym, there is a gym on the 2nd floor. Plenty of machines as well as free weights. Just ask at reception for access. Thank you for a lovely stay and see you again next year!
