Accommodating staff, good location, clean room DoubleTree by Hilton in Tigard has very friendly staff. Their Director of Sales and Marketing, Ms. Brianna Chopine, was a joy to work with. They are very accommodating and hospitable. We held our outreach for our community there recently and enjoyed our comfortable stay at the hotel. The rooms were clean and location is good. Plus we enjoyed the hotel's complimentary cookies.

Not The Usual Hilton Experience What has happened to Hilton? I travel frequently and I stay at Hilton properties most of the time. This past weekend at the Doubletree, Tigard Oregon, what a mess. The public areas are old, ratty, and dirty. If you happen to be in rooms on the North side of the building you are very close to a major road and will hear the traffic most of the night. I was woken up every morning at 5 AM by staff talking in the hall and getting buckets of ice out of the room ice machine (three doors from my room) for the breakfast downstairs. Put an ice machine in your bar!! They didn’t even bother to make up my room one of the four days I was staying there. I asked for a credit for that but they ignored me. These are also the hotel rooms of missing furniture. On the website, they show hotel rooms with spacious sitting areas with sofas, armchairs & coffee tables. Every room at this Doubletree I’ve been in (four now) has that large space and nothing in it but a random footstool or leftover table and a lamp, it’s like the furniture was worn out and they never replaced it or someone walked away with it. Who knows? But they mislead people. It’s an extremely disappointing hotel, go somewhere else.

Never again. I very very would recommend against ever booking this hotel. At 4:30 pm I went to check in after a long travel day. I was immediately told the room wasn't ready. When I asked, "check in time is 4pm right?" the woman said "yes but rooms are never ready at check in time at any hotel". This has never been my experience at any hotel ever, but fine if that's what she wants to think. So I asked for the hotel to comp my parking to make up for the fact that the room wasn't ready. This was apparently a mistake. The manager was very confused at the concept of comping because she asked "well who would pay for it then?" She then said she can't comp parking, and showed me some printed up sheet that she wrote on already, saying she can't erase the pen about the parking. When I suggested she could cross out the line and just write on the next line down, she said she can't do that. Cut to about 20 minutes later, I finally got into my room a little after 5pm. We're sitting in the room and a hotel employee uses a keycard to let themselves in without knocking! I immediately said "get out" and went back down to the desk to the same woman. I was pretty upset at the lack of safety if hotel employees just let themselves into rooms, so I raised my voice at the woman about the situation. She then started yelling at me about my attitude, which was wild. I guess I should have been happy the room was late and employees just let themselves in. She then decided to comp my parking, even though she said she couldn't before. But then yelled at me a little more. A little bit later she came up to my room to apologize for the situation (as she should have). She offered me complimentary breakfast to make up for it. (side note, does doubletree literally charge for everything??). I said thank you, she kept talking at me, but I just asked her to leave because it had been a long day. The next morning we went to use our two free complimentary breakfasts, I handed over the coupons that said "complimentary breakfast" on them, and the attendant handed me back a bill for $12. When I asked why I was getting a bill when I had complimentary breakfast, she said "that only means you're charged the reduced rate of $6 instead of the full rate of $15". I then had to explain what complimentary means to the attendant and told her to go talk to the front desk because I wasn't paying for breakfast. All in all, this was my first experience with the doubletree brand and it will absolutely be my last.

Very tired hotel As a lifetime diamond member, I have experienced literally hundreds of Hilton family stays. This one, by far, was the most dated and worn property. The furnishings (see photos) were seemingly from the 1980’s. The carpets as well as the uncomfortable bed was atrocious. The breakfast (while inexpensive…$13) was a glorified poor Hampton Inn breakfast. This property should lose it’s franchise if something cannot be done immediately to address the decor and other amenities.

Like dirty and dirty adjacent? Like being assaulted by hotel staff? I always asked via text to let the property know of any issues, to an email address that came in the sms. So this is what I sent: (truncated to most important points) 1. WiFi honors is slower than an old baud based modem 2. WiFi honors kicks me off after only a few minutes 3. The towels are stored 3 inches from the floor (directly on the left after the door entryway) and all the germs from people walking by them, dragging luggage by, etc, will get dredged up onto the clean towels 4. The towels are scratchy. 5. The shower door does not stay closed - best I could get it was about 2-3” open 6. Can’t get in the shower without having to walk through the VERY MILD SPRAY of water - turning it on after is not an option because: 7. Can’t move the shower head and I don’t want a full body drizzle of cold water 8. Shower head is dirty and has grime in the holes 9. Can’t open the back of the shower 10. Weak water pressure makes shower even worse; or maybe the dirty shower head is partially to blame 11. Door not closing drenches bath mat 12. Bath Mat is scratchy also/anyway 13. The hot water handle on the sink is very hard to turn. 14. Not one 21st century USB plug/hub in the room. 15. Carpet in room is at least 50 years old, NOT clean, and water/flood stains on the bottom of the MDE furniture make me afraid to walk barefoot…or with socks That night, I was at the bar, talking to a couple also staying there, when someone had a medical emergency and threw the place into a bit of chaos - no worries, first responders got there right away and all went back to normal in short order. I had just finished my 1st drink at the start of the emergency, and after everything calmed down, I asked for another (whew)…..for which they were going to use my dirty glass. I declined, and moved it to the other end of the bar where the dirty dish bucket was. So I requested a new drink in a new glass and the bar manager (which I found out later) made me the drink and asked for payment when she brought it (pymt for the whole tab, actually). I said no problem, handed her my cc, and she rang the sale, turned back around, ripped my drink from my hand and threw it out. Told me to leave the bar. Ok, I was in shock, not really quite understanding…asking, what? What’s going on? What do you mean?? This was apparently the cue for some drunk guy (whom I later worked out was some local, and pal of bar manager’s), gets in my face yelling at me - with all possible profanity - to get out of the bar and not come back, as he spittles into my face. I look at the bar manager and she starts snapping her fingers at me and repeating “get out”. So I left, went to the front desk, and the night manager was there - and while I was trying to tell him the situation , drunk friend guy follows me over and continues yelling at me and berating me, with more spittle in my face. Night manager does absolutely nothing, NOTHING. Once again, I contacted management and corporate — who largely wouldn’t have cared less again…until I told them not to delete the footage from the bar the night I was there because it looks like I would be subpoenaing it and they were on notice. I’m still considering my options that may be available to me in equity or at law - I mean they let an obviously drunk person assault me 2 times in the span of 5-7 minutes, without taking ANY action, in addition to the assault by the bar manager and off duty employees drinking at the bar when they’re not supposed to be. They did “comp” one night of my stay, but after all I had to endure, their total inaction/negligence/misconduct, plus my sleepless nights, et al, doesn’t even really say “sorry”. Use Hilton at your own peril. That’s strike 3, and I’ll NEVER stay at another Hilton property again during the remainder of my natural life.
