The 1920s brought swift, profound change to the world of women’s undergarments, as ladies began to cast out their stiff corsets in favor of the newly invented brassiere. Founded in 1927, Fay-Miss—a lingerie company that would soon change its name to Bali—was at the forefront of this movement, bringing some of the first cup sizes, nylon cups, and all-cotton bras to the market. Though competition was stiff, the designers held comfort paramount in every new feature they unveiled.
More than 80 years later, the bras look quite different, but the goal hasn’t changed. Bali’s bras are still designed with features that grant comfort and peace of mind, such as Concealing Petals in the cups to avoid show-through, minimizers to visually reduce bust size, and a Comfort-U design that helps keep straps and bands in place all day.
