The only thing steel on this food chopper are the blades. When I used it the garlic kept getting caught up in the blades and the plastic sounded like it was cracking. I had to keep checking it to make sure it was not breaking and to dig out the garlic that was stuck in the blades. I ended up just putting it aside and using a knife. Total waste of money. If you are looking for a food chopper that works get the Gemco food chopper. Its not pretty but it works and about the same cost if not cheaper.

Its made of plastic. It isn't surdy. It wasn't strong enough to chop onions. It is useless in the kitchen.

I ordered two of these food choppers. Both of them arrived broken. Saw better quality ones for cheaper (after shipping and handling) at the store. The entire thing is cheaply built and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone!
