Trips and training form the centerpiece of PCH Scuba's services for area hydronauts. Programs range from beginner-level certification to search-and-recovery training, and adventures journey both close to home and as far ranging as Fiji. The Open Water Diver course makes for a fun and accessible first foray beneath the waves, incorporating a deep-delving adventure to Catalina Island, which is named after the third queen of Spain: Queen Island. The staff leads explorations of San Diego's collection of wrecks and adventures on chartered dive boats. Whatever sort of wave-blanketed voyage the aquatic adventurer desires, PCH's community of Master Scuba Diver–certified teachers and dive leaders are eager to chaperone.

The staff members at Sylvan Learning's numerous centers understand that each child learns differently. Therefore, they don’t try to implement a uniform tutoring system; instead, they design custom lesson programs based on the results of a skills assessment using diagnostic tools and one-on-one interviews.
Tutors work with students from pre-kindergarten through grade 12, illuminating topics ranging from basic reading and writing to remembering complex algebraic formulas without having them tattooed on your chest. Many of Sylvan’s instructors work in local schools, so they are intimately familiar with common curricula and understand how to gear lessons toward optimal results. Camps and after-school and summer classes can ready high-schoolers for the rigors of the ACT or the SAT, or they can help students to wow college-admissions officers with their superior essay-writing skills.
From the start, kids exhibit a natural ingenuity, whether they're building spaceships out of Legos or rearranging a sandbox's disorderly piles of sand into immaculate mounds of sand. This inherent affinity for problem solving is what the instructors at Sandbox Computers for Kids, Inc. help cultivate through a variety of kids' classes and programs. Through subjects such as robotics, programming, and game design, young students learn valuable skills to keep their minds engaged and develop a lifelong interest in science and technology. Whether its through classes at its main location, classes for homeschooled students, after-school programs, or activities at schools and community centers, Sandbox Computers for Kids, Inc.'s goal is to make computer education fun, relevant, and accessible to all children.
