What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
The Learning Experience believes in our “learn, play, grow!” philosophy. The foundation of The Learning Experience was built on three education and care principles: cognitive, physical, and social. We understand that each child is an individual and our teachers work hard to positively impact the lives of children by implementing our TLE education principles and by providing the best care in the industry.
In addition to our groundbreaking educational programs in our state of the art facility, we include two snacks, as well as a daily healthy lunch option. Each meal is served with a fruit and vegetable, as well as milk, water, and juice throughout the day.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
For more than 30 years, the founders of The Learning Experience®, the Weissman family, have been positively impacting the lives of children by developing and implementing ground-breaking care and early education programs throughout the country. Starting in 1980 with a single location in Boca Raton, FL, the unique and proprietary programs that the Weissmans developed quickly caught on and expansion soon followed.
What do you love most about your job?
We believe that how children learn is as important as what they learn, that's why our educational programs are designed to inspire children's love of learning through hands-on lessons that make their educational experience fun! Daily lessons promote positive engagement throughout the day and include phonics, sign language, manners and etiquette, philanthropy, foreign language and hands-on technology. Enrichment programs such as yoga, soccer, drama, dance and music are also offered at no additional cost. Our teachers work alongside the children, as they explore our interactive program.

Each year, MudManX issues runners the world’s dirtiest challenge: a race across mud-slathered obstacles that test both agility and laundry skills. Designed with the assistance of US Special Forces and Mother Nature's cool sister who lets you play in puddles, the course features obstacles inspired by the elements of earth, wind, fire, and water. While exploring the course, runners travel through mud pits, past fiery trails, and over icy water before securing the boon of beer and live music. The post-race after party welcomes a DJs and includes a MiniX obstacle course so children as young as eight can finally discover the joys of getting dirty.
In the fall, MudManX also gets into the spirit with the MudSpooktacular, a Halloween-themed race that turns the mud course into a battleground for survival. In addition to navigating
obstacles, runners also have to contend with waves of undead attackers, evading the costumed ghouls during a desperate dash for the finish line. No matter the
tie of year, proceeds from the events
benefit the American Red Cross, whose volunteers often rush through harsh and dirty conditions to deliver food, clothing, shelter, and comfort to those in need.
Did you know that, on average, 88% of the seats in a movie theater remain empty during a showing? According to the New York Times, this phenomenon really surprised Sean Wycliffe a few years back when he went to see the Oscar-winning film The King's Speech and shared the theater with only two other audience members. With all the focus on online video services, Sean realized movie theaters were being overlooked, and came up with a concept that could help movie houses fill their empty seats.
His brainchild became Dealflicks, a website that offers customers discounted tickets (sometimes with popcorn or soda) for same-day showings. Customers shop a selection of deals, each of which is specific to a particular film, theater, and showtime, and upon purchase, receive an email voucher they present at the theater's ticket counter. Dealflicks is partnered with theaters around the country, particularly independent and neighborhood venues, such as the treehouse of the enterprising kid down the street.
At 120', the Miss Belmar Princess is as regal a ship as can be with its state-of-the-art navigational equipment, spacious sun deck with lounge chairs, full restaurant, separate ladies' and men's facilities, free parking, free shuttle service, and a heated and air-conditioned cabin with comfortable, full-cushioned seating. The Miss Belmar Princess sails daily in the coastal waters of New Jersey in search of fluke, sea bass, blues, and striped bass, and many trips allow passengers the chance to glimpse whales and schools of dolphins swimming with the vessel. Under the direction of the experienced and sea-savvy Captain Alan and Captain Lenny, who each have over 35 years of experience, the fleet navigates fishing hot spots during four-hour afternoon family-friendly fishing trips and sunset cruises. During each trip, the captain and crew take pictures, and sometimes videos, of triumphant anglers showing off their catch.
For the better part of a century, fish haven't been able to sleep, swim, or walk their pet plankton without the looming threat of Royal Miss Belmar's anglers. 1936 was the year that the family-owned company launched its first fishing boat, and today an entire fleet heads out into New Jersey's waters in search of striped bass, fluke, bluefish, sea bass, and other species that inhabit the deep sea.
Captain Alan Shinn heads up the team today, and he brings a lifetime of fishing experience out onto the water. Piloting boats that range as large as the 120-foot The Miss Belmar Princess, Captain Shinn's crews carry passengers out on half-day, full-day, and overnight fishing trips. Though the deep-sea fishing highlights most trips, some feature special events such as fireworks cruises, and many boats feature a fully-stocked galley for fresh-cooked meals you can salt with the misty sea.
