GolfVisions, a golf management company based in the Chicago suburbs, operates some of Chicagoland's most revered courses. The company has steadily expanded its impressive portfolio since it was established in 2001. Today, it oversees nearly 20 courses with meticulous attention to detail, from Oak Grove in Harvard, Foxford Hills in Cary and Bittersweet in Gurnee, to Settler's Hill and Tanna Farms in the west suburban Fox Valley, to Whittaker Woods in New Buffalo, MI. What's more, GolfVisions ensures the golfing experience at each of its pristine courses includes an attentive and friendly staff, not to mention rates packed with plenty of value.
The 18-hole layout of Midlane Country Club arcs, dips, and meanders over rolling terrain that runs 6,848 yards from the back tees. Golfballs traverse wide bentgrass fairways up to greens that roll fast and true, dotted with spring-fed lakes, densely forested fairways, and treacherous greenside bunkers. Before facing these challenges on the par-71 course, though, golfers can get some pre-round practice time on the driving range and its full complement of bentgrass practice tees.

As of 2014, Dungeon of Doom has a new home in Zion and 42,000 square feet worth of space to scare the bejesus out of anyone who enters. Now sporting an underground vibe inside the old briquette factory, the renowned haunted attraction has been prepping Halloween fans for their favorite holiday since 1997. The new location is still populated by DOD's Killer Krew: Dr. Killpatient roams about searching for new victims, and Biscuit the Butcher readily awaits new meat to arrive inside the slaughterhouse freezer. Thanks to these characters and its elaborate attractions, Dungeon of Doom has become famed for its consistency. It also keeps its finger on the pulse of what fans want with surveys every season, which is much better than having the dungeon's deranged clowns knock on neighborhood doors with a clipboard.
Refreshing zephyrs glide off freshwater lochs and onto SkipperBud's, an all-purpose marina on the shores of Lake Mendota. New and used boats from high-end brands such as Starcraft and Sea Ray bob beside the sprawling facilities, where savvy salespeople bring decades of know-how to the 40-year-old company. Engine parts, safety tackle, and watersports equipment are also on hand, as are adept boat mechanics trained to tinker on most boat models and engine types. Indoor storage facilities fend off the icy barks of Old Man Winter, and, in the summer, make for easy access to Lake Mendota's launch points.
